3 selected artists will be paid a $500 honorarium to create a detailed proposal.
The mural budget includes all costs associated with designing and installing a mural on the Riverwalk Center Parking Garage. This includes but is not limited to, artist fees, meetings, site visits, site survey, design, materials, material tests, fabrication, site access (scaffolding, lift, etc.), installation, insurance and permitting conforming to Broward County and Fort Lauderdale City requirements, travel, transportation and expenses, graffiti coating, maintenance plan, consultants’, and subcontractors' fees for, and all other costs associated with this project.

Project Description:
Business for the Arts of Broward seeks an artist or artist team to create an original mural on an exterior parking garage wall located at the 150 Southeast Second Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33301
The mural design will rely on the creativity of the artist and has no specific requirements. The mural design should not contain any profanity, political messages, or controversial content.
Artist’s budget includes mural design, materials, and installation.
Site Information
The mural wall is at 150 Southeast Second Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33301. It is a city garage that provides parking for Florida Atlantic University, The NSU Art Museum, and The Broward County Main Library, as well as several surrounding offices and businesses. The exterior wall is 20’ wide by 65’ high. See attached photos.
Project Timeline (subject to change)

· Design finalized: August 15
· Installation plan finalized; agreement signed: August 23
· Installation: (September 1st or pending artist’s availability for September)

Selection Process:
Business for the Arts of Broward will select the artist or artist team that best meets project requirements, based on the information contained in their response to the call-for-entry and proposal. The selection panel will then make a recommendation to the City of Fort Lauderdale for final approval.
Evaluation Criteria:
Business for the Arts of Broward will individually rate each applicant on the following criteria.
Work Samples
Quality of past work; technical and aesthetic
Fit of portfolio with project vision
Resume or CV highlighting past projects of similar scope
Relevant experience and demonstrated ability to successfully design, fabricate, administer public art murals of similar scope

Finalists (3) selected using the above evaluation criteria will be awarded a $500 honorarium to complete a detailed proposal.

Application Requirements
All professional artists responding to the call-for-entry must submit complete answers in the CaFÉ application. Responses will be evaluated based on the selection criteria below. Respondents should present the required information clearly and concisely. Initial Application through CallForEntry.org
8 – 10 Work Samples highlighting past projects of similar scope
Include year, dimensions, materials, location, and budget in image description.
If you are applying as an artist team indicate pieces created together and as individuals.
Sketches and concept design may be included if past work does not represent the visual approach you will take with this project.
Bio or artist statement
1 page resume or cv highlighting past projects of similar scope.
Applications that do not provide the required information will not be considered. All materials must be submitted via the CaFÉ online application system. There is no application fee to apply.
