It is the mission of the Trinity Art Show to encourage artists to create visual art providing a unique perspective on the Christian view and experience in contemporary life. The art is intended to allow personal expression and promote dialog.

Our 2024 Theme is from Genesis 1, " And God said, ' Let there be light, '..."

It’s dark when God calls light into being. How can art reflect this call to light in the midst of darkness?  In this election season we face the possibility of an outcome that, depending on one’s political preferences, is either full of light or of darkness. How might we see beyond the immediate political moment and recognize that the light God calls into being predates all political preferences and choices - and is for all of us. The divine act of creation inspires every other act of creation, including all of the art works we look forward to seeing in the show.

We are open to art that explicitly references faith, and art that is in conversation with the spirituality suggested by the theme.

Trinity Cathedral is a progressive Episcopal Community, we believe that we are here to love and to serve in the City of Sacramento and beyond. Our Art Show provides an opportunity for artists to join in a conversation about faith.

Accepted applicants will have their work exhibited at the Lexis Gallery at Trinity Cathedral in Sacramento, CA, from Oct. 2 - Nov. 3, 2024.

PRIZES: Total Cash Awards - $5,000

First place - $3,000; Second place - $1,500 Honorable Mention $500
