At Craft Alliance, we believe that craft has the power to inspire, connect, and transform lives.

Established in 1964, this year marks the 60th anniversary of Craft Alliance! Starting from a newsletter, it has grown to include a roster of comprehensive education programs, community and artist programming, and an exhibition schedule that brings together both local and national artists  to Saint Louis. 60 years later, Craft Alliance remains committed to inspiring the community through contemporary craft.

This Fall, we want to celebrate the transformative nature of craft–techniques and materials that have held true for centuries and the makers who continuously challenge and expand the field of craft. Looking towards the next 60 years, Craft Alliance poses the question of what is craft’s role in our collective futures. Whether it is considering the transformation of materials, technique, or personal practice, we invite submissions from artists engaging with craft: basketry, print and book arts, ceramics, fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, paper, wearable art, and wood.

Our Jury includes:

Doug Dale, Assistant Director, Duane Reed Gallery

Hattie Felton, Director of Curatorial Affairs and Curator of Fine and Decorative Arts, Missouri History Museum

Andrea Moon, Lecturer in Ceramics, Washington University

Gavin Piesomboon, Studio Director, Third Degree Glass
