Call for Columbus Metropolitan Area Artists
REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS - The Dublin Arts Council, in partnership with the Kroger Company, will commission a professional artist to create indoor artwork for a new grocery store in Jerome Village located at 12116 Sycamore Trace, Plain City, OH 43064. The Kroger store is within the Dublin City School District boundaries.
The artwork will be prominently displayed on a wall inside the store as part of the Kroger Company’s commitment to involving artists in beautifying new stores throughout the nation. The artwork is expected to celebrate the spirit of the community and the unique identity of the neighborhood and its surroundings.
The artwork will be mounted on panels of durable material that can be attached to the wall. The wall space for the artwork is to be 24 feet wide by 8 feet high.
Application Requirements
TO APPLY - Interested artists must submit their application digitally. Submission is free of charge at www.callforentry.org. Uploaded material should consist of:
● Six digital images (jpeg format preferred) Minimum 1920 pixels on the longest edge. Maximum 5MB file size each. Video clips are also accepted, up to three each.
● Caption sheet identifying each image by title of artwork, medium, dimensions, dates, and location. Image file names must correspond to the caption sheet.
● Resume / CV
Eligibility Criteria
ELIGIBILITY - This opportunity is open to professional artists in the Columbus Metropolitan Area with the ability to produce exemplary and original large-scale artwork. The Columbus Metropolitan Area includes the counties of Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Hocking, Licking, Madison, Morrow, Perry, Pickaway, and Union.
SEMI-FINALIST PROPOSAL AWARD - Up to three artists will be selected to prepare a design/drawing of the proposed artwork. Each artist will be paid $400 for the development of their proposals.
PROJECT BUDGET - One artist will be awarded a commission of $10,000. This amount includes all artist fees and the cost of the design, including fabrication and installation on said panels, and will include transportation and insurance costs to deliver artwork to the new Jerome Village store located at 12116 Sycamore Trace, Plain City, OH 43064 by October 16, 2024.
The general on-site contractor of the new Jerome Village store, with the guidance of the artist, will perform the installation of said artwork.
