Juror and Judging

The juror selections for entry are based on mastery of design, technique, conceptual quality and creativity. The number of works in each category is not predetermined and will be decided by the juror. Note: Artists may qualify for only one award per category but may win awards in multiple categories.

Meet the Judges: Best in Show and Category awards are determined by the judges. Judge's decisions are final.

Robert A Dye: After studying classical painting techniques at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA, Robert taught painting, drawing, and art history at several Philadelphia area art schools in addition to spending countless hours painting plein air in the Pine Barrens of Southern New Jersey. Since coming to Texas, Robert has expanded his vision of the intimate landscape of the East Coast to the wide-open vistas of Texas. His paintings straddle the line between landscape and abstract imagery, evoking a Turneresque sense of light and space combined with energetic brush strokes and a sensually complex paint surface.
