The City of Auburn, WA is seeking applications for art vendors for the 2024 Postmark Center for the Arts Holiday Market, taking place on November 16, 2024. This Holiday Market will be a small, cozy experience for holiday shoppers interested in unique, handmade arts by local creators. Located in the Postmark Center for the Arts, selected artists will receive one 24” x 60” table to display a selection of their work for sale.

 

Deadline for applications: August 15, 2024 at 10:59p.m.

 

Eligibility:

We welcome all Washington State artists and craftspeople making unique, handcrafted, and accessibly priced work to apply! Applications will be reviewed by a panel of Auburn Arts Commissioners, City of Auburn arts staff, local WA artists and professionals in the field. Artists and/or artists groups of diverse mediums are encouraged to apply, including but not limited to: printmaking, painting, drawing, mixed media, textiles, mosaic, glass, recycled materials, photography, calligraphy, collage, fiber art, ceramics, jewelry, metal sculptures, etc.

 

Selection Criteria:

All applicants may be scored based on the following criteria:

  • Locality - only Washington State artists will be selected for this opportunity.
  • Artistic Excellence - as demonstrated in submitted images of work.
  • Innovation and Variety - innovative use of materials, ideas, and items offering a stand-out variety of creations.
  • Inventory – Applicant must have enough items to reasonably fill out their table.
  • Artist/table applicant must be able to accept and process payment on their own terms.

 

Application Requirements:

  • All applicants are subject to a $5 application fee.
  • If accepted, artists will be required to pay a $35 table fee.
  • All applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Everything sold at your booth must be handmade by the artist/creator/applicant.
  • 3-10 images of the type of work that would be sold at your table if selected for the Holiday Arts Market, including media and retail prices.
  • A short 1-2 sentence bio or statement about your artwork that we can use for event promotions if selected.
  • Any websites or social media handles that we can use to promote your work if selected.

  • Hours: Set-up 9:30am – 11am ; Event 11am - 3pm; Take-down 3:00pm – 4pm
  • Table Space:
    • One 24” x 60” table
    • Table will have access to WiFi and restrooms. There is limited access to running water via Café sinks. There is limited access to electricity.
    • You are free to decorate your table as you please. We cannot provide tablecloths.
  • Parking: Free Parking for event attendees and vendors is available streetside in the downtown area, parking lots behind the Postmark Center for the Arts, and transit center parking garages a few blocks away.
  • Marketing: The City of Auburn will be marketing for this event in the Auburn Recreation Guide, through our email system, on social media, and more.
