This free juried exhibit is open to all alumni (Undergraduate or Graduate) of the Kent State University, School of Art.  The Biennial Alumni Exhibition, seeks to bring together and highlight the wide array of talented alumni throughout the eighty-plus year history of the School of Art. This years (inaugural)  juror is Wendy Earle, Curator, Akron Art Museum has previously worked as a curator for MOCA Cleveland, the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art in Winston-Salem, NC, and the Museum of the Southwest in Midland, TX. As of the fall of 2023, she is now Curator at the Akron Art Museum. Her interests include self-taught Southern artists, craft versus fine art, and the intersection of art, science and technology. She received her BA in Art History from the University of Michigan and her MA in Art History from the University of Texas in Austin. Earle's interest in contemporary art stems from the inspiration of working with living artists.

Application Requirements

Entry Instructions:


Original works of art in any medium. 

Submissions are limited to three pieces per person (yes, you can submit just one if you want).
Hanging work must be fitted with a professional hanging device (no tape, poorly attached wire/string/fishing wire, etc.). All artworks should be clearly labeled with the artist's name, title, medium, dimensions, and sales price or insurance value if not for sale. Pieces missing any of the above may forfeit the right to be displayed.

No substitutions of accepted work.
All work will remain on display for the duration of the exhibit. Details will be communicated via email by the Gallery Director.

To enter the juried competition, you must submit a PDF, PNG, JPEG or GIF image of your artwork via this online entry form. The competition is only open to works submitted online, and subsequently chosen, by the judge, to be displayed in the CVA Gallery/Payto Gallery/Crawford Gallery located in the Center for the Visual Arts, 325 Terrace Drive, Kent, Ohio.

If your work is chosen for exhibition, the committee reserves the right to use an image of your work for promotional purposes.
