THE ART OF CULINARY at NICOLET COLLEGE

Seeking food-inspired artwork for Nicolet College Art Exhibit in Rhinelander, Wisconsin

The third in a series of exhibitions highlighting the intersection of Nicolet College’s occupational programs and the creative arts, the Art of Culinary will highlight the delicious connection between art and food. It is said, we eat first with our eyes. We also consume art, and it feeds our soul. Apply to this interplay of food and art as we showcase one of the many programs offered at Nicolet College – Culinary. Tucked away in the northern Wisconsin woods, the Art Gallery is across the hall from the Culinary Lab and will be stuffed with an abundance of tasteful, culinary-themed artworks from artists across the Midwest. Most any medium will be considered. Non-perishable artworks only please :) 

During the Art of Culinary, Chef Mitch and Nicolet College Culinary students will host culinary experiences with the exhibit between December 9 – January 24. Watch your email and the College's Arts & Enrichment social media on Instagram and Facebook for details Apply by 10/18/24 to be considered for inclusion in this unique and meaningful exhibit. Welcoming artists in the Midwest - Artists from Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, and Michigan are encouraged to apply. Submit your culinary themed artworks today!

The entries will be reviewed and selected by Nicolet College's Team Art committee along with culinary faculty. If you get accepted and will be shipping your work - you are responsible for all shipping costs to and from the gallery in Rhinelander, Wisconsin by Nov 22. Include all return paperwork and labels with the initial shipping of your artwork. We also will accept hand deliveries of work. We do not take any commission on artwork sales. Artists will be notified of a sales inquiry, and settlement will be negotiated between artist and patron.

12.12.24 Opening Reception 4-6pm
1.24.25 Show Closes
1.27.25 10am-2pm Hand Pickup (or by special appt)
Shipped works will be mailed the following week with pre-paid return postage.

Application Requirements

Apply by end of day, Friday, October 18, 2024. May submit up to 3 pieces for consideration. Artists with accepted works will be notified on or before Thursday, November 7, 2024. Additional information will be communicated at that time.

Eligibility Criteria

This show is open to artists 18+ years of age within the Midwest. Artists from Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, and Michigan are encouraged to apply.
