The Art Around the Corner Foundation (AACF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts, enriching the community, and bringing fine art to Southern Utah. AACF partners closely with the City of St. George, Utah, in this effort.

Celebrating 21 years, AACF recruits world-class, professional artists to participate in a unique “art on loan” program. Each year AACF solicits, selects, and installs approximately 35 new pieces of public art in its outdoor galleries located in St. George, Utah.

Nationally renowned artists lend their works to Art Around the Corner Foundation for one year, and all sculptures are offered for sale or lease to public and private collectors. A large number of displayed sculptures are sold each year (more than $1,000,000 in sales to date), including sculptures purchased by the City of St. George and St. George Regional Hospital for their permanent collections.

Art Around the Corner’s main sculpture gallery is outside, located in Historic Downtown St. George, Utah. In 2019, the footprint of the sculpture gallery was further extended to include displays at St. George Regional Hospital.

We appreciate the talented participating artists who make it possible for the Foundation to fulfill its mission to support the arts and to bring fine art to our community.

Application Requirements

The Art Around the Corner Foundation seeks original artwork that:

  • Is visually engaging and encourages interaction
  • Large sculpture designed for the scale of public spaces (at least 24 inches in height and/or diameter)

  • Does not require the use of electricity, audio/visual technology, water or other ongoing resources
  • Meets all public safety, structural and maintenance standards

Incomplete applications will NOT be considered. The applicant’s name must appear on all materials submitted. Each submission should include the following items:

2.    Title and description of the piece (150 words or less).

3.    Material, size, and weight of the piece.

4.    Artist biography and headshot for use on AACF website and promotional materials.

$25 entry fee, per application

Eligibility Criteria

This program is open to all artists, regardless of race, creed, gender, gender variance, sexual orientation, national origin, age, religion, marital status, political opinion or affiliation, or mental or physical disability.

Artists may submit a maximum of two pieces for consideration, each of which is eligible for a $1,000 stipend if selected. To be considered, artists must have demonstrated experience creating work of similar scope and scale.

Materials used should be able to withstand Southern Utah’s variable climate ranging from 25 degrees in the winter to 115 degrees in the summer. Additionally, all sculptures should be at least 24 inches in height and/or diameter, and be sturdy enough to withstand children climbing on and interacting with the art. Sculptures should be free of any sharp edges or potentially dangerous elements.

All submissions must be original creations by the artist. There is a $25 entry fee per submission. Only entries received online through CaFE (callforentry.org) will be considered.
