This is a call to artists who are members of OMA Artist Alliance to submit entries for Spirited: OMA Artist Alliance at Brooks Theater, an exhibition to take place at Brooks Theater Gallery in downtown Oceanside. Artwork will be juried and exhibition layout designed solely by Carol Naegele, Brooks Theater Gallery Curator.

This exhibition is not strictly themed, but artists are encouraged to submit work that explores the winter spirit in any form that may take. Consider subjects related to the winter-season holidays, traditions, natural scenes, or abstract expressions of joy, comfort, celebration, or nostalgia.

ENTRY FEE: $20 for first submission, $10 for each thereafter.

Application Requirements

ARTWORK PARAMETERS

    Media

• All submissions must be original works of art. No giclees or other reproductions, with exception of limited edition prints and/or photography
• Artwork may be in any style
• Tasteful nudity is acceptable
• A maximum of three artworks per artist will be selected
• Artwork requiring special or unusual lighting, electricity, or unusual methods of installation cannot be accommodated
• 3D Sculptures, jewelry and small items will not be considered

    Size

• Maximum dimensions: 60” high x 48” wide.
• Maximum 4” deep as per ADA compliance.
• Only three large artworks at or near the maximum dimensions stated above can be accommodated in the gallery; please submit a range of sizes

    Frames

• Works on paper must be framed. Frames must be simple and neutral. Edges of unframed two-dimensional artwork must be finished or gallery wrapped.
• If work is gallery wrapped no frame is needed.
• All artwork must be wired and ready to hang, with a label on the back of each piece listing the artist's name and the title, dimensions (without frame), medium, and sales price.

Eligibility Criteria

Artists must be a current OMA member with the Artist Alliance affiliate membership add-on. Artists who are not members of the OMA with the Artist Alliance add-on but are interested in participating in this exhibition must become members of OMA at any level and add Artist Alliance before submitting artwork for consideration.

OMA Artist Alliance can be joined by one of the following methods:
