Please consider an opportunity to participate in our 60th year anniversary contemporary art exhibition (Spring 2025 through Winter 2026). When Dr. Charles H. Wright established the museum, artists of Detroit were a part of his vision. He and his collaborative team of stakeholders created a groundbreaking and transformative gathering space focused on African American history, art, and culture. As the visual arts plays a central role in critiquing, representing, expressing, and imagining our world, our anniversary wish is to celebrate Detroit’s Black Artists.

Application Requirements

Artist can submit a maximum of 3 artworks. These artworks must fit within the themes of the call relating to Dr. Charles H. Wright, The Wright Museum, the City of Detroit, or the African American experience. Artist must answer both questions below:

  1. How has the Charles H. Wright Museum impacted your artistic practice?
  2. How is the City of Detroit central to your artistic practice?

Eligibility Criteria

Artists or museum and gallery representatives must own the works they are submitting.
