Call Description
The Art Advocacy Project 2D (commonly known as TAAP 2D) is a one-year on-loan program designed to promote regional artists through the public display of their artworks and provides a means for artwork sales. This project is open to all Colorado artists of two-dimensional media. Selected artworks may be for sale; however, this is not required.
Unique two-dimensional works of art will be showcased in the Loveland Public Library’s Central Galleria starting in late February 2025. This project is suitable for artists (18 years and older) at any stage of their career who wish to display their work. This annual project welcomes a wide variety of mediums, and artists working with less dominant mediums, such as fiber, charcoal, mixed media, etc., are especially encouraged to apply. Applications will be evaluated by a jury panel composed of representatives from Art in Public Places (AIPP) and citizen volunteers.
Since 2022, we have teamed up with the Loveland Poet Laureate committee to showcase a poem inspired by each artwork in the on-loan exhibit at the library. If your artwork is selected, the artist will work with a poet who will compose a poem related to the artwork. Please note that the selected artist may need to spend some time collaborating with the poet by discussing the artwork, depending on the poet’s creative process. Additionally, there will be an Artist Talk and Poetry Reading Reception on Saturday, April 5, 2025, should the selected artist choose to attend.
Selected artworks will be displayed at the Loveland Public Library from late February 2025 until mid to late February 2026. Please do not submit artwork that cannot be available for the entire year.

How to Apply
This project is open to all Colorado artists of two-dimensional media and will be compensated with an honorarium of $350.00.
- Selected artwork must be considered Museum “ready to hang” to an art railing with D-ring hardware. All artwork must be professionally fabricated and framed with protective glass (when applicable).
- Artwork must be durable for public display in a high-traffic corridor. Artwork that is fragile or unprotected will likely not be selected.
- Selected artwork must remain on display for the duration of the program. Exceptions will be made for photography. Photographs (that are part of a limited edition) may be sold and replaced for display within the first six months of hanging.
- Artists may submit one image of the artwork in their application. Please label your submissions clearly and include the dimensions for each piece (including the frame) in your artist statement.
- Artwork submitted must be created by the artist who created the work and must be an original. (Exceptions are photographic editions.)
- The Artist must own all rights to display the artwork.
- Artwork submitted for the exhibit must be valued at $2,500 or less. Pieces valued over $2,500 will not be considered.
- Due to space limitations, artwork larger than 3' x 3' (36” x 36”) will not be considered. Reminder: Double-check the artwork's dimensions and include the frame. Incorrect dimensions could prevent the artwork from being exhibited.
