Gallery 130, located at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi will host a juried exhibition in Spring 2025. Cash prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, Second Place, and Third Place. The juror for this year's exhibition is Dixie Boswell. Artists who are selected will be asked for artist statements and more information in preparation for the exhibition.
Juror Bio
Dixie Boswell (born 1982) studied painting, drawing, and art history at Mississippi State University, earning a BFA. Her studio fine art graduate studies were completed at Claremont Graduate University just outside of Los Angeles, California.
Boswell's studio practice involves creating ethereal and non-permanent installations that repurpose materials, surfaces, and space to stimulate inward and outward reflection. As Gallery Director and an independent curator, she strives for consistent professional productions and works toward creating equity and education by connecting communities through art of all kinds.
Deadline for Submissions:
The deadline for submissions is December 1st, 2024
Exhibition Dates:
The show will open on February 24th and close on March 21st, 2025. A closing reception will be scheduled toward the end of the show.
Artist Notification:
Artists will be notified of acceptance by the end of January 2025.
Delivery Deadline:
Work must be delivered to 138 Meek Hall between February 14th and February 21st.
Awards:
Awards will be given for Best in Show, Second Place, Third Place, and several Honorable Mentions. Best in Show will receive $250, Second Place will receive $100, and Third Place will receive $50.
Entry:
Artists may submit up to three entries for each entry fee. There are no limits for the number of total entry fees that can be paid. Works of any medium will be considered. Video artists may submit links to streaming video pages (Vimeo, YouTube, etc.) if desired.

Application Requirements
Please apply via the CaFÉ submission page. If submitting a video work or larger media files, you may submit links to cloud locations instead of attempting to upload files. Do not include the artist’s name or additional information on images. Images submitted must accurately represent the artwork or the work will not be exhibited.
Eligibility Criteria
Open to all artists over 18 years old. All artwork must have been completed within the last 5 years. All media and creative approaches are accepted, including but not limited to ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, painting, video, sound, photography, performance, etc. Current faculty and students at the University of Mississippi are not eligible to apply.
