The 11th Open Call for Entries: - A Juried International Photography Exhibition
A juried open call for contemporary voices in photography. We are looking for work to mount an international showcase for contemporary voices in photography, no theme or prompt.

We are looking to bring together image makers from around the world to survey current photographic practice across a full spectrum of image capture, presentation and subject matter.  We are looking to assemble, for a gallery exhibition, a collection of work that reflects the range of current photographic practice across the world as we begin 2025.  Beyond the requirement that light was captured in the making of your work, the only limit is your imagination.

The Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts, 118 N. Main St. Providence, RI

IMPORTANT TIMELINE DATES

Exhibition: Thursday, May 15th thru June 13th, 2025
Registration Deadline:  March 16th
Delivery of Accepted Work: On or before May 10th

Jurors: Zora J Murff & Rana Young are artists and educators based in Providence, RI; both earned their MFA in Studio Art from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and currently teach photography courses at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at Tufts University.

Their work has been written about for Hyperallergic and the British Journal of Photography, featured in the Huffington Post, and published in-print with LensCulture and Gnomic Book. Prints from their collaborative series, Fade Like a Sigh, were acquired for the permanent collection at San Fransisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) and displayed as part of the Sightlines: Photographs from the Collection exhibition (August 6, 2022 — May 7, 2023). Solo exhibitions of their work have been hosted nationally.

Curatorial projects include conceptualizing and funding, Take It From Here, featuring artworks by ten emerging lens-based photographers who use the camera as a multifaceted site of imagination, play, and self-exploration. The project traveled to Abakus Projects (Boston, MA), Missouri State University (Springfield, MO), Filter Space (Chicago, IL), and Washington University (St. Louis, MO). They also partnered with Travis Shaffer, Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri, to create a limited edition Risograph exhibition catalog; the publication received a 'Jurors' Special Mention' at the 2021 Paris Photo–Aperture Foundation PhotoBook Awards.
