Light is everywhere! Everything we see, every color we perceive, every tone we enjoy – is because of light. How it falls upon us during our day or night determines everything from how our day unfolds, when we sleep, play, or work, or how we create our art. Outside we wait for the "right light" – it's fundamental to the artistic process; inside, we create the right environment with light for atmosphere, excitement, or intimacy.

Whatever the time of year – a hot noon sun or an evening full moon, a bright city-scape or an afternoon ocean-front, a glowing fire or a candle-lit room – light inspires and moves us.

For this exhibition, show us how you use "light" in your art and how it brings your creative process alive!

CALENDAR
Entry deadline Friday, 31 January, 2025
Notification of winners and the gallery opening on the Cultural Center website will be completed by Monday, 10 February, 2025

AWARDS
First place - $300, second place - $200, and third place - $100.

ENTRY FEE
$20 for first entry, and $5 for each additional entry up to maximum of 20 images. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance.

ELIGIBILITY
Open to ALL fine art mediums (oil, acrylic, watermedia, pastel, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, fiber, wood, digital art) except video.

RULES
Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. 

NOTIFICATION
Notification will be done by email. If for any reason you do not receive your notification by the notification date, please check the filters in your email account.

FORMATTING
All images must be in JPEG or JPG format using Café guidelines. The image size must be 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side. Maximum file size is 5 mb.
