Dreamscapes is a national exhibition that explores images inspired by or rooted in dreams and altered realities. Like early 20th-century Surrealists, many contemporary artists are creating dream-like images in response to the feelings of chaos that stem from living in a cultural where stability is challenged by social, natural, and technological upheaval. Artists making work that is dreamy, mystical, magical, and imaginative in concept and approach, whether representational or abstract are encouraged to apply. Work that has been previously displayed at TCA is not eligible.  All work must be the original creation of the artist.

ARTWORK:

Giclee reproductions printed on canvas are not permitted.  Entry must be original, entirely the work of the artist, and cannot have been previously shown at TCA. No art may be removed from the exhibit prior to the close of the exhibition on Sunday, April 13, 2025, including sold art.

TIMELINE:

Friday, November 7, 2024: Call opens
Friday, January 24, 2025: Entry deadline.
January 26-31, 2025: Online jury process.

Week of February 2, 2025: Notifications to Artists

Wednesday through Monday, February 12-17, 2025: Shipped art due.

Monday, February 24, 2025: Hand-delivered art due.

Friday, February 28, 2025: Opening Reception, 5-7pm

Monday, April 14, 2025: Art must be picked up.
Week of April 20, 2025: Shipped work returned.

PRESENTATION:

All artworks must arrive ready to hang.  If framed, work must be suitably matted, (white, black, or neutral colors preferred), simply framed, and firmly wired. No sawtooth hangers.  TCA reserves the right to disqualify any selected entry upon arrival that does not meet the above requirements or is deemed unsuitable for display.

JURY/FEES

Payments are made at the end of the CaFE™ entry process either via credit card online or a check mailed to the art center. Jurying will be done on the basis of digital images in a jpg format only. Up to four works may be entered for consideration. 

Non-refundable fee: $30.

*$3 each additional entry image up to 3 entries.

SALES:

All work must be for sale. TCA will retain a 40% commission.  Price work accordingly. 

SHIPPING:
Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA.  Unsold work will be shipped back to the artist after the exhibition.  Artists must provide a barcoded preprinted PREPAID shipping label for the return of their artwork.  Please, no Styrofoam peanuts.
