Submission Criteria for Manifestations: Our Future

Eligibility:

  • Open to artists 18 years and older.
  • All mediums welcome, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, digital art, photography, mixed media, and installation art.
  • AI-Generated Work: If any part of the artwork is created using AI, a complete description must be provided detailing what portion of the piece was generated by AI and what specific creative input and involvement the artist contributed to the work.
  • Originality & Creativity: All submissions must be original. If reference materials not created by the artist are used, the artist must provide documentation of the reference, and the final work must exhibit significant transformation, demonstrating a distinct and innovative departure from the source material.
  • All work must be for sale

Theme:

  • Submissions must explore themes of a future the artist hopes for. Interpretations of this might address concepts such as equality, unity, environmental harmony, and other positive transformations.

Submission Requirements:

  • Artwork Images: High-resolution images of each artwork submitted. Images should be clear, well-lit, and accurately represent the work without the frame showing or anything other than the art. If accepted, these will be used to promote your work!
  • Artist Statement: A brief description (200-300 words) of how the work relates to the exhibition’s theme and conveys your vision for the future. THIS WILL BE USED TO PROMOTE YOU IF ACCEPTED
  • Artwork Details: Title, medium, dimensions, and year of creation for each piece.
  • Biography: A short artist biography (150-200 words) to provide context about your background and practice. THIS WILL BE USED TO PROMOTE YOU IF ACCEPTED

Specifications:

  • Dimensions and Weight: Due to space constraints, 2D works should not exceed 48” in any dimension, and 3D works should be under 20 lbs. Special accommodations may be possible with prior approval.
  • Presentation: Art must be gallery-ready (e.g., framed or with appropriate hanging hardware, and clean, free of debris and in good condition).

Selection Criteria:

  • Relevance to Theme: How well does the piece align with the theme of envisioning a positive future?
  • Originality & Creativity: Uniqueness of the artistic approach, concept, and execution.
  • Technical Skill: Proficiency and attention to detail in the chosen medium.
  • Impact: Emotional or thought-provoking quality that engages viewers.

Jury & Award

  • Juried: This show will be juried in person with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and two honorable mentions being chosen.
  • Prizes: 1st place will receive $100, 2nd place will receive $50 and 3rd place will receive $25.

Important Dates:

  • Application Deadline: January 18, 2025
  • Notification of Acceptance: January 19, 2025
  • Delivery of Accepted Work: January 25 & 26, 2025 between 12-5pm.
  • Opening Reception: February 1, 2025 12-5pm
  • Pickup Art: February 23 & 24 from 12-5pm.

COMMISSION
There will only be a 30% commission going to the gallery from each sale of art. Our payment schedule occurs on or before the last Friday of the month immediately following the month in which the sale of the Artwork occurs.  A detailed sales report will be sent to any artist who made sales that month. Sales tax will be collected and paid by the gallery. 

REPRODUCTION RIGHTS
By submitting to this exhibit the Artist gives permission to the Gallery, if accepted to the show, to copy, photograph, or reproduce any Artwork for the purpose of appearing in advertisement, or other marketing material which such advertisement, or other marketing material shall include, when reasonably practical, a statement of credit to the Artist of such Artwork.  Gallery shall use reasonable efforts to prevent the photography or other reproduction of the Artwork by third parties, but shall not be held liable for any copywrite or other intellectual property infringements by such third parties while the Artwork is at the Gallery or shown in any advertisement, or any other marketing material produced by the Gallery including pictures of the Artwork on Gallery’s website.

Media Requirements
Art images must be cropped without the frame. Images of 3d art must have a plain background and be the only item in the image. All images submitted must include title, medium, retail price, size (HxWxD). PLEASE SUBMIT NICE IMAGES as these will be used to PROMOTE YOUR WORK if accepted :)
