Call for Art: “The New Year” Show and Sale

Exhibition Dates: January 17 to February 16, 2025

Location: Gallery of Hermosa, 138 Pier Ave, Hermosa Beach

We are excited to announce our upcoming art exhibit and sale, “The New Year Show,” to showcase original artwork from local Southern California artists! We are open to artwork of all themes, genres and 2D mediums.  Small 3D works (under 12-inch height) that can stand on a small pedestal will be considered.

Submission Guidelines:

Size: All sizes are welcome. Larger pieces with glass frames will not be displayed. 3D works under 12-inches tall that can stand on a pedestal will be considered.

Price: All price points will be considered. Artwork must be available for sale.

Quality: High-quality, original art only. All mediums, genres and themes will be considered.

Photography: Must be unique or part of a limited edition series. Please specify the series and edition and note as such on the artwork.

Artist Statement: Please include an artist statement with your submission. This should provide insight into the inspiration behind your work.

Social Media and Website: Include your Instagram handle and website URL.

We are excited to showcase diverse and exceptional artwork that will resonate with new and existing collectors. This is a fantastic opportunity to have your work seen and appreciated by a broad audience.

Submission Guidelines (more details in the Rules & Terms)

  • Open to All Southern California Artists
  • Submit high quality, original 2D artwork. This can include but is not limited to paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media, and limited edition photography. Original or limited edition artwork only - no reproductions or giclees.
  • Artwork must be ready for display (framed or gallery wrapped with wire for hanging).
  • Each artist may submit up to three (3) artworks for consideration.
  • Artwork must be available for sale.
  • Please include a brief artist statement or bio along with your submission. Your artist statement will be considered during the selection process.
  • Artwork must be hand-delivered to the gallery - we will not accept shipped work for this show.

If you are chosen for the gallery exhibition, details will be provided via email on sending/delivering your work to the gallery.

Application Requirements

Artists may submit up to Three (3) images for the non-refundable entry fee of $25 for the first image and $5 for each additional image. Detail shots count toward the image total.

All accepted artwork will be offered for sale during this exhibition at our gallery and online. Please include the selling price in your CaFE account portfolio/artwork image details. 

Artists please include a short Artist’s Bio and Statement and brief description for each artwork. 

Eligibility Criteria

Open to all Southern California artists. Artwork must be hand-delivered to the gallery - we will not accept shipped work for this show. Artists must be able to pickup unsold work from the gallery.
