Fractured Horizons, featured in NYCxDESIGN's Spotlight program, is a prestigious multidisciplinary art exhibition that explores the intricate relationship between the industrial legacy of human-centric built environments and the speculative futures of posthuman spaces. This exhibition aims to delve into the intertwined destinies of human industrial history and posthuman possibilities, providing a powerful platform for our partners to showcase their leadership in design innovation. By drawing attention from global creatives and collectors, Fractured Horizons fosters a dynamic dialogue on the aesthetic, ethical, and existential dimensions of humanity's evolving connection with artificial environments.

As a cornerstone of the global design calendar, the NYCxDESIGN Festival celebrates New York City’s dynamic design community through hundreds of events annually, including exhibits, trade shows, talks, and tours. In 2024, the NYCxDESIGN Festival achieved remarkable success with over 115,000 attendees, extensive media coverage, and significant international reach.

Themes to Explore:

Legacy and Rupture: Examine the impacts of industrialization on man-made landscapes, reflecting on both prosperity and ecological fractures.

Horizons of the Posthuman City: Envision cities and spaces where human centrality gives way to systems shaped by technology and ecology.

Fractured Narratives: Present works that capture the tensions between nostalgia for industrial pasts and anxiety about speculative futures.
