The Brighton Cultural Arts Commission is requesting proposals from professional artists to design and install 18 small sculptures of dogs in Downtown Brighton, Colorado. The project will also include larger sculptures of 6 dogs.
The sculptures will include 6 different dogs in 3 poses. The dogs will be approximately 10" tall and have anthropomorphic/human characteristics. The project will also include a larger sculpture that will include the 6 different dogs.
The Brighton Cultural Arts Commission will find 18 locations in downtown Brighton for the small sculptures. The artist will assist in the placement of the sculptures.
Application Requirements
The initial submission is due by midnight February 21, 2025. The initial submission will include qualifications including prior sculptures completed and costs for the sculpture. The proposal shall include a written description or drawing of proposed sculptures.
The Brighton Cultural Arts Commission will appoint a committee to review the submittals. The committee will select 5 to 7 proposals to further consider.
The selected artists will be invited to an interview. The interview will include a presentation of a detailed mock-up of the suggested sculptures. The presentation shall include the cost of the sculptures, including installation. The interviews will be scheduled for the week of May 5, 2025.
The Sculptures must be completed by December 31, 2025.
