CACE (Center for Art and Community Enrichment) Gallery of Fine Art is a privately funded initiative of Morgan Community College. Now in its thirteenth year, the Gallery hosts juried art exhibits featuring local, regional and national artists. Admission is free and open to the public Monday through Friday during regular business hours. In addition to regular business hours, the Gallery has extended hours on scheduled Third Thursday Art Walks, artist receptions, and other special occasions and community events throughout the year. Local residents and art enthusiasts throughout the northeast region of Colorado visit the Gallery which is located at 300 Main Street, Fort Morgan, Colorado. The artist receives 90% of artwork sales; the Gallery retains 10% to help with gallery maintenance and exhibit promotions.
Call details for applications to exhibit in the CACE Gallery of Fine Art are as follow:
Art objects are to be of original concept and design. Both 2D and 3D original art is acceptable and may represent all kinds of art mediums: painting, photography, fiber, charcoal, pastel, ceramic, clay, printmaking, pen & ink, glass, pottery, metals and mixed media.
Art objects are to have been created in the last five (5) years.
Art objects created in instructional settings (i.e. workshops, classes) are not considered original artwork.
For items on canvas, maximum size is not to exceed 2000 square inches (unframed).
Artists may identify items that are either for sale (with price) or designated as NFS.
A CACE Gallery support fee of 10% will be deducted from the sale price of any item. Artists will be paid 90% of the sale price of their artwork. Payment will be by check to the artist from the MCC Foundation after the show closes.
Two-dimensional pieces must be framed and wired, ready for hanging (saw tooth hangers are not compatible with the Gallery hanging system).
Images of exhibited items may be photographed for promotional purposes.
Artists must currently be living in the United States.
Electronic applications will be accepted through April 5, 2025. Application images should be a minimum of 1200 pixels on longest side. File size should not exceed 5 megabytes.
Artists selected for exhibits will be notified before the end of May, 2025. Upon invitation and acceptance by the artist to exhibit at the CACE Gallery, dates for the exhibit will be agreed upon by both parties.
The Gallery representatives and artist will enter into a written contract. The Gallery will request a 300 dpi headshot of the artist for use in marketing materials for the exhibit.
Artists are required to make arrangements for delivery and pick up all items exhibited at the CACE Gallery of Fine Art. If shipping is required, the artist will be responsible for that expense.
Exhibits normally open on a Thursday evening. The artist is expected to attend the opening reception, and make a brief presentation about their work and artistic process and/or avail themselves to conversation with Gallery visitors at the reception.
Artists who wish may also present a workshop and hands-on experience for participants. Arrangements and details of that option will be discussed with each artist.
