Call Description

The UA Museum of the North is issuing a call for entry for upcoming community arts exhibitions.  Up to 6 Interior Alaska artists and/or artist collaborations or community curated shows will be selected for a sequence of exhibitions within UAMN’s Rose Berry Alaska Art Gallery opening between March 2026 and May 2028.

Applications at CaFÉ will be accepted as of October 24, 2025.

Applications are due Sunday, November 30, 2025 by 11:59PM Alaska Time.

Selected proposals will be announced January 2026.

This project is open to Interior Alaska artists (individuals and collaborations) as well as to community curators proposing collections of cultural objects. Artists are strongly encouraged to develop new work for this opportunity, though you are encouraged to use existing work in your application. Applications will be reviewed by a committee consisting of professional artists and museum staff. Selections will be based on the quality of the submitted work, a bio, resume and statement, and the exhibition proposal. Submit your application online at CaFÉ between October 24 and November 30, 2025.

The timing and duration of each selected exhibition will be negotiated between artist and museum. UAMN expects that most shows will run from 2-4 months.

The UA Museum of the North is a thriving visitor attraction, a vital component of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the only research and teaching museum in Alaska. We are located in Fairbanks, Alaska, on the traditional lands of the Dena people of the lower Tanana River.
