TRIBUTARY II: Flow from Humanity

Verum Ultimum invites artists to interpret the theme "Tributary II," and the boundless and flowing notions this one word conjures. Tributaries are essential to all life. They symbolize  connection, confluence, community, clean water, health, and more. Verum Ultimum Gallery is thrilled to invite artists to explore, "TRIBUTARY II" for this second iteration of this compelling theme. Artists are encouraged to enter work that is any interpretation of the call. The intention of the call is not to drive the work, but to spark an impetus, and discover unique visions to showcase.  ALL MEDIUMS are welcome.  This call emphasizes the idea of growth, expansion, breath, and humanity.  What does the word tributary conjure for you? Is your work linked to a continuum and/or sustenance?   Do you see your work as feeding the larger conversation of the collective psyche and imagination?  Or perhaps you honor nature or a spiritual or poetic connection through your work. Or perhaps you see the theme as a chance to express art as a metaphor for (or reflection of) life itself & its relationship to this driving force? 

What is your personal interpretation of theme, “Tributary”.... what are the essential elements that mark your work and your vision?  How do you gain the creative momentum to add something unique to this immense sea of talent?

EXHIBITION DATES the month of April 2025


ELIGIBILITY AND RESTRICTIONS: 
The competition is open to all 2D and 3D artists, national and international, working in all forms of painting, drawing, photography, graphics, digital, and sculpture are eligible. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. For this show wall mounted works must not be taller than 50" no wider than 50". If it is larger, the submitted work will only be considered for the 3D Virtual Gallery.

EXHIBITION: 
Selected artists will be featured in a group exhibition at the Verum Ultimum Art Gallery in Portland, Oregon. There will be an opening reception at Verum's new brick and mortar location. The exhibition will be published on the Verum Ultimum Gallery web site. Artists are featured in blogposts and social media posts. All exhibitions remain part of the Verum Ultimum website even after the exhibition closes.

EXHIBITION TERMS:
All works in the show must be for sale. The gallery will take a 35 percent commission on all sales. Sale price is determined by the artist.

ENTRY FEES: 
There is a $25.00 entry fee for 2 artworks entered and presentation is by digital JPG image files. There is an option to enter up to 6 images, but additional fees apply after 2 images.  
Details of artwork count as an additional artwork. 

Artists accepted to exhibit will not be charged additional fees of any kind.

IMAGE USE / COPYRIGHTS: 
Artist retains all copyrights to submitted images and represented artwork. Digital images submitted with artist entry are for exhibition selection only and will be deleted after completion of the selection process. By entering the competition, artists selected to exhibit grant Verum Ultimum Gallery rights to use the selected image(s) on printed materials and the gallery web site for promotional purposes only. Verum Ultimum retain no copyrights to artists work. 

NOTIFICATION: 
Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance no later than 25 days after the call closes. Notification will be made via email. All artists who provide a working email address will be notified via email. Type your email address clearly, if a mistake is made you will not be notified. 

PRIVACY POLICY: 
Artist contact information (address, telephone, etc.) is only held for the purpose of contacting selected artists and is not preserved in any database. Entry data and image files are deleted on the completion of the jury process. 

DEADLINE: 
The entry deadline is February 27, 2025. Entries must be submitted via Café (https://www.callforentry.org/) by this date.
