Juror: Laura Romer Huckaby is Curator of the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts. She grew up in Burlington, North Carolina, not far from the pottery-making center of Seagrove. She earned a B.S. in Art Education from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, and an M.A. in Art History from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. Having a strong interest in languages as well as art, Laura took further graduate-level training in linguistics and anthropology before heading to Papua New Guinea in 2006 as a missionary with Wycliffe Bible Translators. She returned to the U.S. in 2009, married Fort Worth native David Huckaby in 2011, and moved to San Angelo where David is Professor of Mathematics at Angelo State University. Laura has been with the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts since 2012, organizing the museum’s exhibitions and working with its internationally recognized collection of ceramic art, as well as its collections of Spanish colonial art, Texas art, and manufactured glass. 

About the Nancy Fyfe Cardozier Gallery: The Nancy Fyfe Cardozier Gallery is committed to student growth, exhibiting works of emerging and established artist, and serving the Permian Basin community. Our program allows students to engage directly with artists through hands-on workshops, lectures, and studio visits. 

The Nancy Fyfe Cardozier Gallery is open Mon-Fri, 9:00 am-4:00 pm and By Appointment. 

Application Requirements

Application Requirements 

  • Artists may submit up to 3 images for consideration.
  • Non-refundable $35 submission fee. Must be paid at time of submission via cafe.org.
  • The maximum size of the artwork in any direction cannot exceed 48 inches.
  • Artist is responsible for shipping costs to the NFC gallery and return shipping.
  • Art must be original and not a reproduction.
  • Digital prints will not be considered for juried exhibition.
  • All framed art must be securely wired across or have D-rings.
  • All framed art must use plexi-glass. No glass.
  • Artist must be present to install work that requires customized initializations.
  • Accepted artwork may be refused last minute at the NFC gallery if unable to install or hang properly, or if art varies greatly from the submission image.
  • Artists must be a resident of the United States and be 18+ years old.
  • Pots-n-Prints will receive a 20% commission on all work sold. Artwork need not be for sale.
  • The NFC gallery is not responsible for any artwork damaged, broken, or stolen while on exhibit, in storage, or in transit to and from the exhibition.
  • NFC gallery recommends all artists carry insurance sufficient to cover the full replacement value of their artwork.
  • All submissions must be made online via cafe.org.
  • No late submissions will be considered.
  • Accepted artworks that do not reach the NFC Gallery by May 23rd, 2025 will not be displayed as part of the exhibit.

Eligibility Criteria

Prints: All artworks must be original works of art. Submissions must utilize a form of traditional hand printed media as their primary technique. Artists must submit high-resolution images (300 dpi) for the jury process. Artwork submissions may include but are not limited to: monoprint, monotype, screen print, etching, engraving, drypoint, photopolymer, photogravure, collagraph, stone lithography, plate lithography, woodcut, linocut, and letterpress. Printmaking based installations will be considered if it includes the use of hand-pulled prints. Artist must be present during installation. 

Ceramics: All works must be made of clay and must be the original work of the artist. You can submit up to 3 views of each piece. Artists must submit high-resolution images (300 dpi) for the jury process. Ceramics based installations will be considered if it includes the use of traditional hand-built or wheel thrown artwork. Artist must be present during installation. 

Ineligible Artworks: Digital prints composed of inkjet, laser prints, pigmented prints, risograph, photocopy, laser engraving will not be accepted. Giclée reproductions will also not be accepted. For questions regarding eligible artwork, please contact kiran_m@utpb.edu.
