The City of Orlando is seeking proposals Local Central Florida artists for a large-scale mural in an urban pocket park, soon to be a vibrant public space. The park will feature areas for food trucks, green space for community activities, and a downtown gateway feature. The commissioned mural will celebrate Orlando’s iconic downtown cityscape and commemorate the City of Orlando’s 150th anniversary.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

  • Art Feature Budget: Up to $50,000
    (This budget includes all costs related to materials, equipment, and artist fees.)
  • Design Intent: A 2D mural that reflects the downtown cityscape and Orlando’s 150th birthday. The mural can be fluid in style and does not need to completely cover the wall.
  • Installation Site: 274 N. Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801
  • Mural Wall Dimensions: 28 feet tall by 55 feet wide

Application Requirements

Please submit concept images of the proposed mural along with examples of previous large-scale mural projects.

Budget must include all installation equipment and materials.

Eligibility Criteria

This opportunity is open to local artists experienced in designing and implementing large-scale public art projects. Submissions will only be considered from artists with a proven track record of completing similar projects on time and within budget. 

 

Artists must live or work in Central Florida.
