Intersect Arts Center is excited to announce an open call for proposals for our Sculpture Park & Gardens PHASE 1, located in the Gravois Park neighborhood of St. Louis. This new public art initiative invites artists to transform the currently inaccessible and underutilized private property adjoining Intersect Arts Center into a immersive sanctuary for rest, play, and gathering open to the public.  In this project, art, landscape, and infrastructure coexist, engaging visitors and residents in a deeper dialogue with the environment. 

 Each piece of art in the park will be an opportunity to explore the intersection of artistic expression, sustainable design, play, and community-driven transformation. Artists are especially  invited to propose works that activate the park as a multi-sensory experience—engaging in storytelling through touch, sound, and movement. 

The Sculpture Park & Garden will be a place where visitors of all ages experience both the physicality and the history of the land. Proposals should consider the park’s unique ecological and urban infrastructural context, and seek ways that art can serve as a catalyst for community connection, identity, play, and environmental awareness.

Location: Intersect Arts Center’s Sculpture Park & Garden 3636 Texas Ave. St. Louis, MO 63118.

PHASE 1 Application Deadline: February 21

Decisions: Rolling.  

Timeline: Planning phase June-December 2025. Implementation 2026-2027.  

Stipends Artists must propose a detailed budget and timeline.

Event Terrace - Mosaic/Mural Patio - 2000 sq. ft. 

80,000 budget 

4. Screens/Fencing - Murals, Woodworks, Metal Works, Installation, throughout the property 

 2 sections at +/- 80 linear feet, 

1 section at 30 linear feet,

Eligibility 

Artists must have previous experience working large scale projects.  

Artists must submit a portfolio of up to 20 images of work demonstrating capability in similar projects 

Artist must submit concept sketches or renderings for this site. We are happy to entertain more detailed sketches at a later date after conversation or a site visit if the portfolio of previous work is strong.
