EXHIBIT INFORMATION:

•      Judging will be done of digital images submitted through CaFE only.

•      The call will close on April 15, 2025.

•      There will be two categories for judging—COLOR and MONOCHROME.

•      Notification of artists whose images are juried into the exhibit will be made by email on April 28, 2025.

•      We will display 50 images selected by the jurors in an Exhibitors’ Gallery on the Cary Photographic Artists website (www.caryphotographicartists.org) beginning May 10, 2025.

•      Photographers whose images receive awards, must provide a 100-word biography due by May 5, 2025, in order for their work to be exhibited.

•      An on-line awards ceremony with comments by the jurors will be held at 7:00pm, May 8, 2025. Log in information will be provided by email on May 5, 2025.

•      Maximum number of images: 3

In addition, the judges will select three Honorable Mentions from both the Color and Monochrome categories.

 

ENTRY RULES

•      This exhibition is open to digital photographic images only.  

•      Entries must be submitted through CaFE.

•      Images must be the original, individual work of the entrant.

•      Entrants take full responsibility for the content of all images including the likeness of recognizable individuals.

•      While use of AI editing tools such as Adobe’s Generative Expand and Generative Remove are acceptable, no AI generated images will be accepted. 

•      Work accepted into prior CPA juried print or digital exhibitions is not permitted.

•      To ensure the anonymity of entries during the judging process, no identifying information, including copyright information or watermarks, may appear on the image.

•      Artists whose images are accepted into the exhibit will be notified by email on April 28.

•      Entry fees are non-refundable. No exceptions!

JURORS

Jamie Konarski Davidson.

Jamie Konarski Davidson is an award-winning outdoor and nature photographer with a passion for finding and capturing beauty in all places, from flowers and still life to landscapes, intimate scenes and ordinary places. Her images range from macro and abstracts to intimate, grand and rural landscapes. She embraces an interpretive style in her work through techniques such as infrared, long exposures, ICM, multiple exposures and Lensbaby in the field and creative approaches to interpret in post. As a photographer and visual artist, Jamie is open to experimenting and playing with new techniques.

Based in Greenville, NC, Jamie has been a presenter/instructor for Out of Chicago, NANPA, CNPA, PPSNYS, Mike Moats' Macro Photo Conference and more. She offers programs online and in person to camera clubs and organizations. Her location workshops on the East Coast through New Life Photos offer a wide range of subjects and learning opportunities in beautiful places. Jamie’s goal as an instructor and presenter is to educate, encourage and inspire people to grow in their photography skills with intention and discover their own visual voices.

Matt Payne

Matt Payne is a nature and landscape photographer based in Durango, Colorado, as well as the host of the acclaimed podcast F-Stop Collaborate and Listen. Raised in Colorado Springs, Matt’s passion for the outdoors began early, exploring the mountains that would later inspire his creative work. Before dedicating himself to photography, he pursued climbing and mountaineering, achieving the impressive feat of summiting all of Colorado’s "fourteeners" in 2012 and completing the state’s 100 highest peaks in 2018. These experiences shaped his connection to the wilderness and laid the foundation for his artistic vision.

Matt is also a co-founder of the Natural Landscape Photography Awards, an international competition celebrating skillful and authentic representations of the natural world. Through his podcast, which has reached over 1.5 million downloads, Matt fosters meaningful discussions about photography, creativity, and conservation. As a photographer, podcaster, and competition judge, Matt is dedicated to elevating the art of landscape photography while inspiring others to connect deeply with nature and share its beauty responsibly.

CARY PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTISTS

Cary Photographic Artists, founded in 2007 by Bobbi Hopp, is the North Carolina Triangle’s only organization whose mission is to develop and enhance the practice of photographic art.
