Call Description

Sarratt Gallery at Vanderbilt University is pleased to announce this call for Celebrating American Craft 2025.

This exhibit is open to all professional craft based artists that are 18 years and older and residing in the United States.  All work must be original designs from the artist. All craft art made with clay, metals, wood, fiber arts, and glass will be considered. Please note we do not accept installation, video or sound works for this exhibit. Student work is not allowed for this exhibit.

Works may range from functional to sculptural and should be made primarily of one of the craft mediums.  The jury panel will be tasked with finding the best examples of each medium and for strengths in techniques as well as creative expression. Invited Artists are responsible for expense of shipping their work to the Gallery and the Gallery will pay return shipping costs. Invited artists may also deliver and pick up their work but this is at their own expense. Application Requirements

Artists may submit up to 5 individual works. Please do not submit detail pictures as that will count as an entry. 

Images should be professionally photographed. Each image should be of one object, in focus, and in front of a plain or ombre background. 

Please provide materials and techniques used with each entry.

Bios and artist statements are not required for the jury process.

Jury panel will score each submission and the top scoring artists will be invited to exhibit.

Please note that Sarratt Gallery will handle all transactions and retain a 30% commission on any sales during the exhibition.

Eligibility Criteria

Resident of United States

18 years and older

Original design by the artist, please acknowledge if the work is made by the artist or with assistance

Craft based mediums only - clay, metal, wood, glass, fiber arts. Work must be primarily of one of these mediums, but use of other materials is allowed.
