River Arts, Inc. seeks 2-D and 3-D artists to participate in a juried call for its Spring exhibit, "Wings & Water." Examples of this may include works of birds, insects, fish, animals, botanicals, water and/or shore environment, etc. Entry Fee: One entry for $35; additional entries $10 each with a maximum of four entries allowed. Submissions: Limited to 4 submissions. Works must be original. All styles, media, and techniques accepted. Submissions must include title, media, size, and price. Deadline for submissions is January 1, 2014. Presentation: Size limit maximum 5ft. Two-dimensional work must be framed (if glazing, plexiglass only) and wired for hanging. Sculpture requiring plexi encasement should have encasement as part of work. No sawtooth or clip hangers. Awards: Juror will award $500 to “Best of Show” on March 13, 2014. Juror: Martha Glowacki holds an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has shown her work at the Chazen Museum of Art, Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, the INOVA Gallery in Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Art Museum. She has twice been a resident in the John Michael Kohler Arts Center’s Art/Industry Program. Glowacki was director of the Gallery of Design at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is currently director of the James Watrous Gallery of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters. Sale of Works: Though NFS works will be accepted, we encourage works for sale. Works may not be removed until the close of exhibition. Artists retain 65% of sale with 35% retained by River Arts Inc. Shipping/Delivery: Full packaging and shipping requirements will be sent to accepted artists. Artist will be responsible for cost of shipping and insurance to and from venue. Artwork will be insured by River Arts Inc. during the duration of the exhibit. Notification: Acceptances and regrets will be sent by January 16th, 2014.
