Call Description

About Palisade Art Vision, PAV

PAV was formed in 2015 by a group of local citizens and artists to promote and embrace "Art as a part of everyday life." PAV envisioned an outdoor sculpture program to promote a visible aesthetic voice and to supplement the agritourism of Palisade. This year PAV is seeking 8 to 15 sculptures to enhance the sidewalks, the plaza, and for the first time a local winery! With collaboration of the Town of Palisade, Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, art galleries and artists, PAV has grown from four temporary pieces to over fifteen sculptures and has purchased or sold more than a dozen of the exhibited sculptures. We are excited to coordinate our sculpture unveiling and public sculpture walk/talk with Palisade's Sunday Farmers' Market, 32nd Colorado Mountain Winefest, and Palisade's 5th Annual Mountain Arts Festival.

Application Requirements

Your work will be juried by a local and diverse committee who are looking for three things per sculpture.

  1. 2 to 3 multiple angle images per sculpture.  All selected pieces need to be in-the-round, we have no relief locations.
  2. Size!  We are looking for three sizes: Small, $400 stipend, (11" base or smaller) for our wheelchair ramp. Pedestal, $700 stipend, (22" base or smaller) for our metal and unique wine barrel pedestals. Larger sidewalk or plaza, $1,000 stipend, (mounted directly to the sidewalk or plaza).
  3. Talking points!  We have a great sculpture Walk/Talk.  Please include a couple of memorable/talking points that folks can share about your sculpture through out the year.  Word of mouth is most important.

Eligibility Criteria

Again we are looking for three things:

  1. Regional artists who have some connection to Colorado. Your State touches ours.
  2. Beautiful is beautiful regardless of representational or non-representational.
  3. Previous Public Art experience while valued is not required.
