Call Description
Artful Conglomerations
Assemblage/Up Sourced/Mixed Media
What do YOU use to make your art? Do you scavenge for parts and pieces in unusual places and assemble your ideas in creative ways? Do you repurpose materials and integrate them into inventive configurations? This call is for 2-D and 3-D work that finds its joy in artful conglomerations.
Core New Art Space Invites all artists of any mediums, 2d & 3d (except video/Installations). Entries must be submitted electronically by midnight June 14, 2025 and accompanied by a $35.00 fee (for up to 3 works).
Juror: Deborah Jang is a well-respected Colorado artist working primarily in assemblage.
“The word that seems most apt to describe Deborah Jang’s sculptural works is “lyrical” – each piece is built from an assortment of disparate objects which, once together, find balance and rhythm.” (Zoe Ariyama, Daria Magazine) “I want to create something that wasn’t there before, but encompasses the potential of all the parts,” explains Jang. “It is everything everywhere all at once.”
Deborah Jang earned a BFA in Visual Arts from the University of Colorado in 1978. She has been a member of the Art Students League of Denver for over 20 years and has been shown in multiple galleries including the Arvada Center.
