The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas is home to the Irene Rosenzweig Biennial Juried Exhibition.

The prestigious show — funded by an endowment by the notable Pine Bluff resident — is an opportunity for established and up-and-coming artists to gain recognition and earn prizes, and for ASC to grow its Permanent Collection.

The exhibition is open to artists 18 and older in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. Artwork in the following forms are accepted: Paintings, drawings, original prints, fiber art, ceramics, sculpture, photography, video and digital works.

The exhibition is supported in part by The Arts & Science Center Endowment Fund and the Irene Rosenzweig Endowment Fund.

IMPORTANT DATES
July 18 — Entries (completed form, images, & payment) due by 11:59 p.m. CDT via artx3.org/rosenzweig
Aug 5-6 — Notifications to accepted artists
Aug 8-9 — Notification to non-accepted artists
Aug 22 — ASC receives art
Sept 18 — Exhibition opens. Awards announced at 6 p.m. reception at ASC and via Facebook and Instagram.
Jan. 24 — Exhibition closes at 4 p.m.
Jan. 26-30 — Art returned to artists.
Feb. 7 — Last day for artists to pick up artwork.

Application Requirements

  1. Artwork images (1 image per entry, unless part of a series). Images must be in JPG format, minimum 300 DPI resolution, and identified by artist’s last name and (unique) title of work.
  2. $25 fee per entry (up to 5 entries).

Eligibility Criteria

WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Artists must be 18 years or older and reside in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, or Texas.

ELIGIBLE WORK

  • Artwork in all traditional art forms is accepted including paintings, original prints, fiber art, ceramics, sculpture, and photography.
  • Video and digital works are also accepted but artist must provide all components (e.g., projector, screen, tablet, computer).
  • All components must be affixed; no separate parts.
  • ASC cannot accept performance or installation works.
  • Only original artworks by the entering artist will be accepted; no reproductions. No AI or AI-enhanced works are allowed.
  • Entries must have been completed on or after January 1, 2020. Unedited photos are completed when captured.

ASC may refuse to exhibit any work that does not comply with the juried image or that ASC feels is unsuitable for display. For questions regarding eligibility of artwork, contact Matthew Howard at mhoward@artx3.org or call 870-536-5375.

ENTRY SPECIFICATIONS

  • Two-dimensional entries (an artwork series is one entry), may not exceed 70 inches by 70 inches and must be no smaller than 8 inches by 10 inches framed. All two-dimensional work must be framed and/or ready for display. Works on paper must be framed and glazed.
  • Three-dimensional entries may not exceed 30 pounds and 30 inches by 30 inches.
