This exhibition is part of the 3rd annual PRIDE in Petersburg, IL. Perspectives Art Gallery is hosting its second PRIDE exhibit featuring artists who identify as LGBTQIA+. Artists are encouraged to submit work that is authentic to their voice. The work submitted can be any style you’d like to submit regardless of specific theme, or it can be specifically relevant to LGBTQIA+ interests, life, or activism. The intent of this exhibit is to lift up and promote artwork by LGBTQIA+ artists.
Perspectives’ Second Annual PRIDE show is a safe place for LGBTQIA+ artists to be seen and appreciated for their art, and is a place for all community members to show their support for those artists.
There will be an opening reception on June 7th from 12-5pm. Light refreshments will be served. Artwork must remain on exhibit for the duration of the show ending June 28, 2025.
PRIZES
There will be a cash prize for First ($100), Second ($50) and Third ($25) will be awarded at the reception.
JURY
Jurors will choose the art to include in the show and select the winners for the show in person when the art is on display. Art will be judged by skill, creativity, innovation, presentation and professionalism.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
The work submitted can be any style you’d like to submit regardless of specific theme, or it can be specifically relevant to LGBTQIA+ interests, life, or activism. Artists are encouraged to submit multiple pieces that reflect varying aspects of their artistic voice. Art does not have to be for sale but if it is for sale it must have a retail price listed. Your artist statement and description of your work is considered when selecting pieces for the show and awards.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
May 10th is the application Deadline.
DELIVERY & PICKUP
Art must be delivered by artist or artist representative on May 18 or 19 between 12-5pm. Exceptions to this timeframe may be given by the gallery owner if arrangements are made for drop-off before this date.
All unsold art must be picked up June 29 & 30 between 12-5pm. Limited exceptions to these dates may be made with exceptional circumstances. If a representative will be picking up on your behalf, artist must inform the gallery before hand.
All art must have an easily removed label attached to the art at drop off with the following information: title, medium, artist name, retail price. A registration sheet must be signed at drop off and pick up.
GALLERY READY
All art must be dropped off show ready. This includes but is not limited to:
2D Work must be appropriately wired and ready to hang.
- No sawtooth hangers or clip frames.

- Must not be warped. Or must be framed appropriately so that it is not easily warped.
3D Work must fit on a 12x12-inch pedestal.

Clean and Professional Presentation Required:
All submitted work must arrive gallery ready:
- Glass and frames should be clean and free of damage.
- No bent, broken, or dirty components.
- Work that arrives without proper hanging wire or in need of cleaning or adjustment may be rejected, or we may ask you to make the necessary changes and return with the piece ready for professional display.
RECEPTION
The reception will be June 7th from 12-5pm. Light refreshments will be served. Artists are encouraged to attend, speak, and answer questions about their work. Prizes will be awarded at the reception.

June 7-June 28, 2025
COMMISSION
There will only be a 5% commission going to the gallery from each sale of art to cover transaction fees. Our payment schedule occurs on or before the last Friday of the month immediately following the month in which the sale of the Artwork occurs. Any sales made in June will be paid before July 27. A detailed sales report will be sent to any artist who made sales that month. Sales tax will be collected and paid by the gallery.

By submitting to this exhibit the Artist gives permission to the Gallery, if accepted to the show, to copy, photograph, or reproduce any Artwork for the purpose of appearing in advertisement, or other marketing material which such advertisement, or other marketing material shall include, when reasonably practical, a statement of credit to the Artist of such Artwork. Gallery shall use reasonable efforts to prevent the photography or other reproduction of the Artwork by third parties, but shall not be held liable for any copywrite or other intellectual property infringements by such third parties while the Artwork is at the Gallery or shown in any advertisement, or any other marketing material produced by the Gallery including pictures of the Artwork on Gallery’s website.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Identify as LGBTQAI+
- 2D &3D mediums accepted
- Be able to deliver and pick up art on the dates given.
- Art Must be from your own reference material
