2025 marks the 29th presentation of the Parkside National Print Exhibition over thirty years since the first show opened at UW-Parkside. For three decades, the PNPE has shown some of the finest examples of original prints from artists nationwide. It is one of the longest-running competitive print exhibitions in the Midwest; founded at UW-Parkside in 1987 by printmaking professor Doug DeVinny. This tradition continues without size limitations in the Emile H. Mathis Gallery in the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts & Humanities at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The exhibition will take place Aug 19- Nov 21, 2025, including a public reception, announcement of awards, and juror’s remarks on Wed, Sep 10, 4-6 PM. A full-color catalog will accompany this exhibition.

Doug DeVinny Memorial Award $1,500 Purchase Prize

$500 second place

$300 third place

The awards will be selected by the juror and announced at the reception.

Catalog: A full-color catalog will be produced for the exhibition. Each accepted artist will receive a complimentary copy of the catalog.

Juror Bio

Nathaniel Russell is an interdisciplinary artist and musician: prints, music, drawings, paintings, murals, sculpture, posters, books and illustrations. Born and raised in Indiana, he spent several years in the San Francisco Bay Area after college. Returned to his hometown of Indianapolis, he spends his time creating drawings, prints, sculptures and music. Russell's work is regularly exhibited around the world in both traditional galleries and informal spaces. Russell's art is both direct and subtle, working with language and graphic elements to create memorable images and stories that can be humorous or deeply sad. Russell is also involved in numerous collaborations and projects including murals, printmaking workshops and music performances.

Application Requirements

A $30 non-refundable entry fee for submitting up to three works (one image per work) processed through CallForEntry.org.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible Artists: Artists 18 years or older currently residing in the United States.

Eligible Prints: Prints utilizing traditional, hand-pulled media, including hybrid works combining hand-pulled techniques with new media forms. There are no size restrictions. Prints must have been created within the last two years. Work must arrive exhibition ready. If choosing to provide framed works, works must be framed in Plexiglas (not glass) if shipped. 3D prints and prints employing alternative display methods will be considered.
