Since then he has worked with various art instructors at UNC Pembroke, where he taught for 35 years. he has had two solo shows; one in Fayetteville, NC and one in Wilmington, NC, and has participated in numerous group shows. Much of Geller's work is in mixed media, primarily acrylic and ink, but also in oil and collage.

A Korean Russian American artist, Irina Shin-Geller was born in Uzbekistan. She grew up in Moscow, Russia and earned a Ph.D in Asian History from the Academy of Sciences. After immigrating to the United States in 1992, she studied graphic design at Parsons School of Design and web design at Pace University. In 2020 Irina moved from New York City to Red Springs, NC where she has been living since. Irina started doing art seriously in the late 1990s and more recently began exploring different techniques and media with an emphasis on the use of Korean mulberry paper (kanji). She works primarily with acrylics, watercolors, and ink. She has participated in several group art exhibitions and had two solo shows. In late 2023, Irina and her husband, Jeffery Geller opened the art gallery, Red Springs Artspace.
