“Spillin’ the Tea”: A Mug Exhibition

We’re spilling the tea—and inviting you to be part of the conversation.

This exhibition celebrates the humble mug as a vessel for more than just drinks. It’s a keeper of secrets, a witness to gossip, a companion in ritual. Whether you’re pouring coffee for comfort or tea for truth, mugs hold the moments that connect us.

“Spillin’ the Tea” invites ceramic artists to submit original, functional mugs or cups that reflect the power of shared moments and meaningful exchanges. Playful, poetic, personal, or provocative—we welcome it all, as long as it’s ceramic and sippable.

The Twist:

Along with your mug, please include a short-written piece (max 250 words) in the form of a secret, confession, or piece of news—real or imagined—that could have been shared over coffee or tea. This text will accompany your work in the exhibition, adding a layer of narrative and intimacy to each piece.

 Eligibility:

Open to all ceramic artists 17 and older. All submissions must be functional, original, and primarily ceramic.  Mugs must have a handle and hold 4 ounces of liquid or more.

 Submission Guidelines:

Application Fee: $15 for first entry/ $5 for each additional entry.   Provide 4-6 high resolution JPEG images, and other relevant details.

 Important Dates:

Submission Deadline August 22nd,2025

Delivery Deadline: September 2nd   Opening Reception will be held on September 6th.

Application Requirements

This call is for ceramic artists and potters only.  Please submit a high resolution photo of your entry.
