About JAS
Jazz Aspen Snowmass (JAS) is a multi-faceted 501(c)3 not-for-profit music performance and education organization whose history embraces presentation of iconic American Artists ranging from Tony Bennett, Wynton Marsalis, Diana Krall, Harry Connick Jr. and Ray Charles to Bob Dylan, Jimmy Buffet, The Black Eyed Peas, John Mayer, Stevie Nicks and Sting. JAS has utilized the June Experience, a multi-day music discovery festival, and the Labor Day Experience, presenting today’s hottest performers, to build a strong local base of audiences and sponsorship, which have helped to generate ongoing donor support for the charitable philanthropic jazz and related forms of music performance and education programs of the organization. JAS has generated over $10 Million for these programs since their inception in 1996.
JAS is entering its next phase by transforming an iconic Aspen gem into JAS’ permanent home, The Paul JAS Center, in downtown Aspen. The Paul JAS Center will become a lively community gathering place for cultural, educational and special events, and a vital year-round asset.

About Mural Arts Philadelphia & the Mural Arts Institute
Mural Arts Philadelphia is the nation’s largest public art program, dedicated to the belief that art ignites change.
For 30 years, Mural Arts has united artists and communities through a collaborative process, rooted in the traditions of mural-making, to create art that transforms public spaces and individual lives. Mural Arts engages communities in nearly 100 public art projects each year, and maintains its growing collection through a restoration initiative. Core Mural Arts programs such as Art Education, Restorative Justice, and Porch Light yield unique, project-based learning opportunities for thousands of youth and adults.
In recent years, Mural Arts has evolved into a multi-disciplinary arts organization exploring the intersection of muralism, public art and contemporary art. In addition, Mural Arts has collaborated with an increasing range of community, civic, cultural and development organizations to realize projects that have expanded the city’s public art portfolio in new and exciting ways. Increasingly, Mural Arts has assisted in private organizations in commissioning artworks that engage the communities where they are working.

As part of Mural Arts Philadelphia, the Mural Arts Institute (MAI) is dedicated to sharing knowledge, ideas, and experiences that have shaped our approach to community-centered artmaking. At its core, MAI seeks to build connections, sustain relationships, and share skills about the practices that have been instrumental in creating works of public art with Philadelphia citizens. We work with artists, arts administrators, and community leaders across the world to align knowledge, amplify voices, empower change, and distribute resources that move us all toward a more inclusive and equitable future for socially engaged public art.

About Miriam Singer, Co-Lead Artist on this Project, based in Philadelphia
Miriam Singer is a Philadelphia-based artist who combines drawing, painting, and printmaking to create layered, imaginative interpretations of city life. Her work explores urban environments through a blend of observation and invention, often merging architectural details, public spaces, and abstract forms.
Singer has created murals and public artworks for organizations including the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, the Philadelphia International Airport, and the Albright-Knox Public Art Program in Buffalo, NY. Her mural Compass Map (2020), created in partnership with NewCourtland Senior Services and the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, features drawings of neighborhood architecture surrounding NewCourtland buildings in Philadelphia. It was painted with the help of local seniors, who contributed to both the design and the painting process.
An active educator, Singer teaches printmaking at Fleisher Art Memorial, where she leads workshops in etching and screen printing on fabric. Her collaborative, community-based approach extends to her print projects as well. Such as creating screen prints to support mural fundraising and public engagement.
