Call Description

Artlink is now accepting submissions for our juried exhibition, The Body Re-Formed: Contemporary Approaches to Figure Drawing! Any artist 18+ years of age residing in the United States is eligible. Juried by professional artist and educator Christopher Ganz, this exhibition will explore the world of contemporary figure drawing.

All works must be figure drawing-based, though media can vary, including graphite, charcoal, pastels of any kind, color pencils, crayons, markers, pens, pen and ink, ink washes, gouaches, watercolor, and combinations thereof. Collage elements can also be included.

All work must be original, no reproduction prints.

If the work was done at an organization such as a university, community art center, or local drawing group, please include that information in the description. If the work was created by observing an online live model, please include the group name or source. We would love to show visitors the various ways in which artists access figure drawing!

Opening Reception: Thursday, October 23 from 5-8pm

Presentation
All works must be ready for installation upon delivery and professionally presented (i.e: not damaged or varying from what was accepted). Any works not presented professionally may not be accepted for exhibition. Works do not need to be framed, but they must come with the required hanging hardware if they are unframed. If your work requires special installation, please contact ellen@artlinkfw.org with instructions and provide any required hanging mechanism (magnets, screws, clips, etc.) Identification labels with the artist's name and title should be attached to the back of the work if possible.

Sales
All artwork sales are subject to a 35% sales fee. Artists will be mailed a check for sold work following the close of the exhibition. 

Liability
Artwork will be insured during the exhibition at Artlink. Artlink is not liable for damage or loss in transit to the gallery. Any damage caused by improper preparations by the artist will not be covered by Artlink. 

Hand-Delivery
Accepted artwork can be delivered anytime after acceptance and by 5pm on October 12 at the latest. 

Shipping
Accepted artwork that is shipped must be sent through UPS, FedEx or USPS and must include a return shipping label. Artlink does not cover the cost of return shipping. Artwork must arrive at Artlink by October 12 to be included, but can be shipped anytime after acceptance. Shipped work must be framed with plexiglass, no glass permitted. Any damages that occur during shipping must be covered by the artist. In such an occurrence, if there’s time before install, the Exhibition Coordinator will contact the artist for a credit card number to facilitate repairs. $12 per entry, up to 10 entries

Eligibility Criteria

Artists must be 18+ years of age and reside in the United States.

Artwork must be primarily based in observational figure drawing, either from a in-person model or online. Media can vary.
