Call Description
L7 Gallery invites all artists to apply to our Fall 2025 Exhibition "Sharing Mythologies". Whether it is the personal myths of "computer-nerd", "astrological sign" or "rugged individual", bumping up against the cultural myth of "belonging" due to race, religion or nationality, or the myth of "progress", we would love to see work you might already have that touches upon these themes or new work you make in response to this call.
In our world, where these mythologies intersect and sometimes harmonize (but oftentimes violently clash), imagery that emerges from these interactions can be humorous, poignant or profoundly sad. We want to see what you have to offer.
Artists often reveal what others want to conceal.
Our mission at L7 Gallery is to provide contemporary artists an opportunity to present original work to an audience in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. By featuring an online presence in addition to a brick and mortar gallery site, we will be displaying artists' works to local, national and international audiences. The overall aesthetic of L7 Gallery is based on artistic imagination and personal expression. Consistency in style is not something we particularly value, so please feel free to submit a wide range of work if you feel that represents your best artistic efforts.
For this exhibition L7 Gallery will be awarding 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes of $500, $300 and $200 respectively. The Award winners will be announced opening night November 7, 2025. Winners need not be present to win, and will be notified November 8, 2025.
We are proud to announce we will be working in collaboration with Juror Dewitt Cheng, art writer / critic and co-editor of Square Cylinder.com, an online art magazine based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Cheng also served as curator at Stanford Art Spaces and the Peninsula Museum of Art.
