Call Description
This call revolves around being a part of a gallery on a regular basis with 5-10 works on hand. The call for regular gallery artists is directed towards professional artists.
Museology is finishing up the 19th-23rd. The expansion is anticipated for Fall. The gallery's mission is creating exposure for artists and their advancement of recognition or individual fine art practices. The gallery exhibits all mediums.
Artists working in ALL MEDIUMS are welcomed to apply. Installation art and works that hang from a ceiling will also be considered. The call for artists has a warm heart for sculpture and metal casting as the gallery director is a sculptor.
Video submissions must include a way to display the work (a physical projector).
Each artist entry fee is for 1 artist - 1 application.

The exhibition of art work(s) of artists selected will take place in the indoor gallery spaces run by 3240design LLC at 3240-3246 Larimer St. in the RiNo Art District in Denver, CO
What to expect if accepted:
Artists at fooLPRoof have exposure with work displayed or made available to gallery on hand on a continual basis during regular business hours. We have shifted into:
Your Application will be under our aggregate communal membership model in which the gallery provides a minimum 6 month term for inclusion in gallery & exhibitions, if work is a fit, and online. The fee is paid monthly $60 per month - first and last upfront. Works selected from accepted artists remain on hand at the gallery and for 60 days post exhibition. Commissions are 20% and 10% when an artist directs a client to the gallery. The latter is a reduced commission 10%
Works selected in conjunction with the aggregate communal membership and on hand shall be exclusive to the gallery during the term. All artists are expected to support the gallery & vetted for their commitment to the success of the gallery.
fooLPRoof gallery aggregate communal membership model is designed to give artists a continual physical presence in the gallery with works available to the general public in a retail environment during business hours - rather than one short 2 week exhibition as in many other gallery models.
Solo exhibition opportunities are also available now. The cost is an an additional $60 per month with a 12 month waiting period. Advance planning is standard for solo shows. Works must remain on hand for 60 days post exhibition unless specifically excepted. The artist sits those exhibitions since they occur in a separate area of the gallery with sales handled by the gallery.
Online exhibitions expanded into Artsy as a partner. Member artist may have one work on Artsy. Involved image preparation may have a fee and sales processing or packaging may apply as well. Exposure on ARTSY must be with work(s) exclusive as aforesaid to the gallery.
The gallery exhibitions all have Press releases, PR material and ads. The artists are not involved in these tasks other than to promote events advanced by the gallery. Promoting the events & creating a synergy is expected. Solo exhibitions have a postcard and PR expense.
The Gallery:
Has an assortment of exhibition areas - As part of the expansion the primary area for artist work will shift to the gallery with beverage service. The new area will include large televisions with rotating images of artist work(s). The solo exhibition area will either be the front or middle area of the existing gallery. The rear galleries will continue to serve as overflow exhibition space. Visible art racks will remain apart of the art service model giving consumers expanded choices. A primary focus of the gallery is tourists visiting from out of town and engaging customers visiting the 8 restaurants immediately surrounding the gallery & the district as a whole.

Application Requirements
Unless you applied to Museology - Please submit:
A short Biography, written in the third person of no more than 150 words. If the artist is represented by another gallery, belongs to a co-op or collective gallery or is represented by said, that information should be included in detail in addition to the 150 words.
A one page Curriculum Vitae (Fine Art Resume) legibly spaced with education accomplishments.
If employed at a university or college, art school or are teaching art please describe your role with the name of the school including years of employment, tenure or if retired.
The remainder of the document should include recent exhibitions delineating solo or group, name of venue, place or city and year. This section should be prefaced with any highlights in the artists visual practice they wish to call attention to such as a public art commission, reviews or periodical inclusion, museum inclusions. If there is not room on the one page document an additional half page may be included with the highlights section only.
Please see Eligibility Criteria section below for the size and media limitations. Early career artists must have positioned themselves within their practice in a manner that aligns with professional art practice standards.
Eligibility Criteria
Artists must ask themselves are they a professional artist & also consider themselves to be professional artists. They must have a professional background and/or forward facing persona that revolves around their fine art practice. Traditional representational art will be considered but the venue is a contemporary art space. As in all calls, artists should consider a curatorial process that includes ideas, concepts and considered conceptual in nature. The jurying process will require well crafted work(s) and permanent material but will extend beyond replication of details or mirroring items in a traditional representational manner.
Type, Size and Weight of Artwork(s)
All 3d work will be considered. Wall sculpture and Mixed Media works are encouraged for submission. 2d artwork is allowed for submission. Photo documentary 2d work is encouraged as well.
Wall Sculpture can be no heavier than 100 pounds or 100 pounds per section. Wall work in sections can be up to 8 feet in width total and in single sections no wider than 32 inches by 11 feet tall.
Free standing sculpture: For works that must remain upright, no taller than 72 inches. No taller than 10 feet if the sculpture can be placed on its side. Free standing sculpture shall be moveable by an upright hand truck and no heavier than 200 pounds. Heavier works MUST be hand delivered and placed and removed by the artist with a maximum total weight of 400-600 pounds.
Light based works will be considered. Please refer to size and weight requirements for sculpture.
Suspended Works may be considered. Acceptance of such a work does not guarantee inclusion as factors may prevent such a work actually being installed. Artists in such a category may be allowed to exhibit a photograph of the work in that type of instance as an alternative. Works that hang from a ceiling must include/provide a total weight and be able to be installed in components with an installation diagram provided at submission.
3d & 2d works shall be no larger than 10 feet in any dimension and grids or sections increase marketability. Larger Paintings are the preference of the gallery. Photography has similar size limitation and must be professionally mounted in a floating frame or on a substrate with a cleat back (preferred). There opportunities for large images but these ideas must be discussed with the curator and may require printing with gallery sources.
Giclee's - are not considered for exhibition purposes. They may be part of a larger business discussion but, fooLPRoof handles original art, is known for providing affordable options for advanced and entry level collectors alike. The gallery has advanced curatorial and installation knowledge and experience, it is a trusted source for art.
