From prehistoric cave paintings to current digital art, animals have provided creative inspiration across the centuries. “Animal Instincts,” the 2014 Juried Exhibition in Print by SNAG and produced by Metalsmith, will showcase a diverse range of animal-related work from the metalsmithing field. We are seeking works that are about animals, of animals, and even for animals. Let your animal instincts run wild Eligibility: • Open to all SNAG members 18 years of age or older, including jewelers, designers, metalsmiths, and students (please see instructions below to become a member). • Applicants need not reside in the United States. • All work must be original and produced within the last three years (2010 or later). • Objects made from commercial kits or commercially available plans are NOT ELIGIBLE. • Applicants are strongly encouraged, but not required, to apply with images that have not been widely circulated in Metalsmith or other publications. Requirements: • Applications must be received by midnight (11:59:59 pm) Mountain Time, January 31, 2014. • The application fee of $35 is non-refundable. • Payments are made via CaFÉ™ website with Visa or MasterCard. Checks are not an acceptable form of payment. • All applicants MUST be a member of SNAG in order to be eligible to apply for this EIP opportunity. If you are not a current member at the time of application, please see the links below to become a member. • For each application, please submit both a detail and a general shot of your original work. Artists may submit up to 2 applications to show 2 separate pieces (use code '2ndApp' to avoid being charged for 2nd application). Instructions on how to format images can be found on the CaFE™ website under Image Preparation. Entries submitted by any method other than through www.callforentry.org will not be accepted. • All works must be accompanied by title, material, dimensions, and year of completion. • Artists must submit an artist statement (1000 character limit). • Artists must submit a one-page resume. • All decisions of the jurors are final. • All work must be original. By completing this application artist agrees that he/she is responsible for the creation of submitted works. • By submitting images for possible publication in Metalsmith’s Exhibition in Print 2014, the artist agrees to the following: - That Metalsmith magazine and SNAG have the right to retain and duplicate these images for the purpose of marketing and publishing the Exhibition in Print 2014, and for display on the SNAG website and e-newsletters. - That the artist requires no compensation or further contact from Metalsmith magazine or SNAG. - That the artist agrees to all terms and conditions set forth in this prospectus. 2014 Jurors: • David Bielander, Jeweler • David C.
