Call Description

Cancer 2025: Inspire. Honor. Heal. Through the Power of Art.

Gallerium proudly presents Cancer: Never Give Up – 2025, the 5th annual international juried exhibition, publication, and sales opportunity dedicated to raising awareness, spreading hope, and amplifying the voices of those impacted by cancer.

Every October, the world turns its attention to cancer awareness, most notably breast cancer symbolized by the pink ribbon. Yet cancer in all its forms touches millions of lives—patients, survivors, families, friends, caregivers, and communities. Through art, we can honor these journeys, highlight the strength of the human spirit, and remind the world that in the face of cancer, we never give up.

This initiative goes beyond art for art’s sake—it is a global call to compassion, resilience, and solidarity.

Why Cancer: Never Give Up – 2025?

Because cancer is not just a medical condition, it is a human story. A story of loss and survival, despair and hope, fear and courage. Art can make visible what words often fail to capture—the invisible struggles, the small victories, the collective longing for healing, and the unwavering determination to keep fighting.

By submitting to Cancer: Never Give Up – 2025, artists become part of a movement that:

  • Raises awareness about the realities of cancer worldwide.
  • Offers comfort and solidarity to patients, survivors, and their loved ones.
  • Honors memories of those we’ve lost and ensures their stories live on.
  • Inspires hope and underscores the importance of perseverance.
  • Supports global dialogue between art, science, healing, and humanity.

Your art can be a beacon of light for someone fighting in silence, a tribute to a life well lived, or a reflection of resilience that resonates with countless souls around the globe.

Themes and Topics

We welcome all interpretations in 2D and 3D visual art, both representational and abstract. Possible themes include, but are not limited to:

Strength and Resilience: Capturing the indomitable courage of those facing cancer and their unwavering determination to keep moving forward.

Hope and Inspiration: Art that uplifts, soothes, and reminds us of brighter days, reinforcing that hope is as vital as medicine.

Support and Solidarity: The power of family, friendship, caregivers, and healthcare providers who walk alongside patients through every step.

Personal Stories: Visual narratives inspired by lived experiences—whether as a patient, survivor, loved one, or witness to another’s journey.

Medical Advances and Healing: Celebrating progress in treatment and research while also reflecting on alternative paths to healing and recovery.

The Emotional Landscape: Expressing the profound psychological and emotional impacts of cancer—fear, uncertainty, grief, but also love, gratitude, and joy.

Memorial and Tribute: Honoring the memory of those no longer with us while celebrating their legacy of love and inspiration.

Awareness and Advocacy: Visual voices that amplify the global movement toward prevention, early detection, treatment, and research.

Children and Cancer: Tender reflections on childhood resilience, the innocence of young patients, and the unique struggles faced by children and their families.

Adult Journeys: Portrayals of strength, acceptance, survival, and hope as lived by adults navigating treatment, survival, or loss.

Cancer in Pets and Animals: A reminder that cancer touches not only humans but also the beloved animals we call family. Art that explores the bond between humans and pets in the face of illness, the grief of losing a companion, or the hope and care extended to animals can be deeply moving and healing.

Abstract Expressions: Non-representational works that symbolize the unseen—emotions, energy, transformation, and the invisible battles of cancer—through color, form, and imagination.

Why Submit to Cancer 2025?

The world continues to battle cancer in all its forms. While medicine advances, millions still live each day with its shadow. Art has the power to give courage, spark conversations, and remind humanity of its shared responsibility. In presenting the 5th annual Cancer: Never Give Up exhibition, Gallerium reaffirms its commitment to using art as a transformative force—one that heals, unites, and ignites hope.
