Call Description

The bonds of family are often brought to life through the lens of our cameras. The quiet beauty of a mother cradling her newborn, a dad basking in pride watching his toddler take their first step—or a grandparent taking the hand of the next generation.

Sometimes the strongest images we make are the ones that are the most personal to us of our family, whether it be biological or chosen, that we have captured through our lens. This exhibit is to honor those—

family: KIN

Please submit up to 5 images of  photographs you feel inspired or lead you to shoot families of your own or others.

This call accepts images that are digitally manipulated to create a collage, however, AI generated photos are not permitted for submission.

Application Requirements

Submission Fee (for Members) : $25

Submission Fee (for Non-Members) : $35

Submission Fee + Basic NOPA Membership: $60

Submission Fee + Silver NOPA Membership (Includes online portfolio listing): $85

Maximum pieces per entry is 5. Files must be in JPEG or JPG, under 5MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side so that photographs are large enough to be viewed properly by the juror and used in promotion if selected. 

KIN will open on October 23rd and remain on view through November 30th, 2025.

Application Deadline: October 1st, 2025

Artists Notified of Acceptance: October 5th, 2025

All work must be delivered to the New Orleans Photo Alliance framed and ready to hang no later than October 20th, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Submissions are open to all photographers; NOPA membership not required; all ages accepted. 

Works submitted must be legal and the artist assumes responsibility for having the legal right to exhibit and sell the images. Fine arts nudes and implied nude works are acceptable. This exhibition will include work that has been digitally manipulated (PhotoShop). AI generated photos are not permitted for submission.

Photographers are responsible for all shipping fees. Gallery receives 40 percent and the artist receives 60 percent of the retail price of works sold.

NOTES FOR SELECTED ARTISTS
