Call Description
Celebrate and support the arts in Bridgeport, Connecticut with the annual Metro Art Studios fundraising exhibit. All works must be between 10” x 10" to 14” x 14" square (including any frame) and will be priced at $100, $200, or $300 each, with a 50% commission paid to the artist. Artwork in all mediums appropriate for the wall are acceptable. Work must be delivered ready to hang on one nail. Metro Art Studios is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides opportunity to local, regional, and national artists for exhibition and professional development, as well as art and music experiences and events for the public of the Greater Bridgeport region. The proceeds from the Art Squared exhibit allow us to continue this work.
This exhibit is eagerly awaited by collectors annually and opens during the city-wide Bridgeport Art Trail with close to 2,000 visitors to Metro Art Studios throughout the weekend.
About Metro Art Studios:
Metro Art Studios is a non-profit arts organization located in the South End of Bridgeport, CT. The three-story renovated corset factory houses 38 loft studios for professional musicians and visual artists, as well as Crown Gallery, a large for-profit gallery space on the ground floor. Crown Gallery hosts 6-7 exhibitions a year, a mix of juried and invitational curated shows. Metro supports local, regional, and national artists with professional development workshops and panels, and provides inclusive cultural experiences and diverse opportunities to the Greater Bridgeport area and beyond. The proceeds from the Art Squared exhibit allows us to continue this work.
The annual Art Squared exhibition is a fundraising exhibit that benefits both participating artists and Metro Art Studios. Proceeds from sales are split 50/50 between artists and Metro Art Studios.

Exhibition Dates: November 8 to December 12, 2025 at Metro Art Studios
Submission Deadline: October 17, 2025
Notification of Accepted Work: October 20, 2025
Drop Off for Accepted Work: October 25, 2025, 1 to 3 PM
Pick Up of Unsold Work: December 13, 2025, 1 to 3 PM
Drop off of Accepted Work: All accepted works must be dropped off in person at Metro Art Studio on October 25, 2025 from 1-3 pm, unless other arrangements are made in advance in writing. Works that have not been delivered by October 28 will not be displayed.
Sales:
A commission of 50% will be retained by Metro Art Studios on all sales. Artists must chose either $100, $200, or $300 as a sale price, regardless of size. Artists will be paid for works sold within 30 days after the closing date of the exhibition and the collection of the sales proceeds.

Application Requirements
Artists must enter online at callforentry.org. There is no entry fee and each artist can submit up to 3 original works for consideration. Only one image per work may be submitted, and must include the frame, if applicable. Metro Art Studios reserves the right to refuse a work which has been significantly misrepresented by its entry.
Eligibility Criteria
All artists aged 18 years and older may apply. Open to work in any wall-hung medium. Entries must be original, entirely the work of the entrant, and made without the supervision of an instructor. Copies of existing artworks or those based on copyrighted artworks by others are not eligible. Work must be dropped off in person at Metro Art Studios in Bridgeport CT. All works must be square, a minimum of 10" x 10" and a maximum of 14" x 14", including the frame. Artwork can be any size within the finished size. Metro Art Studios reserves the right to reject any work that differs from the submission or is not finished and able to be hung on one nail, and the right to refuse to hang or display any accepted work with insufficient hanging hardware, at its discretion.
