Call Description

The prestigious Culture & Agriculture Art Exhibit, a beloved tradition for the past 36 years at the New Visions Gallery in Marshfield, moved to Gallery Q in Stevens Point, Wisconsin in 2025.

This cherished event annually attracts hundreds of visitors and celebrates the rich agricultural heritage of Wisconsin, the Midwest, and the United States. Through a juried exhibition, we highlight both historical and contemporary perspectives, bringing together the best in art and culture. The transition to Gallery Q offers us an incredible opportunity to continue fostering this important cultural event.

Located in the heart of downtown Stevens Point, Gallery Q has been an anchor of the local art scene for over 16 years. Our artists cooperative proudly supports local artists from Portage County and the surrounding areas, creating a vibrant community space for artistic expression and collaboration.

JUROR: The juror will select the artwork for exhibit through an online jury process via CallForEntry.org. Final award selections will be made in person after viewing the installed exhibition at Gallery Q.

Daniel John O’Neal (b. 1956, Madison, WI) is known for his meticulously rendered magic realist oil paintings, created with glazing and rendering techniques reminiscent of the Old Masters. His work balances realism with a dream-like aura of intrigue and timeless tension. O’Neal earned an MFA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has received national recognition, including Best in Show at the Butler Institute of American Art (OH) and the Northern National Art Competition (WI). His paintings have also been featured in publications such as The New York Times and Art in America.

AWARDS:  Best of Show – $1,000

  • People’s Choice (announced at close of exhibition) – $500
  • 1st Place – $450
  • 2nd Place – $350
  • 3rd Place – $250
  • Three Honorable Mentions – $100 each

ELECTRONIC CATALOG & PUBLICITY: Gallery Q creates a digital catalog published on the gallery’s website and social media. Printed books can be ordered at cost. Ask Gallery Q for details.
