Call Description
This isn’t a LEGO building competition, it’s a contemporary art exhibition inviting artists to create works inspired by LEGO from a wide range of mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, animation, digital, collage, mixed media, and more!
After a one-year hiatus, we’re thrilled to announce the second annual exhibition, now moving from Loveland to Next Gallery in Denver, CO. Our first show in 2024 drew an incredible range of artists and audiences, proving that tiny bricks can spark big ideas.
allegory - al·le·gory noun
- a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.
Allegory has always been a vital part of the human experience: from ancient myths, fables, and parables to contemporary culture, humans love to use metaphors and symbols to make sense of the world, to critique it, and to imagine new possibilities.
We invite artists to create works inspired by LEGO that convey deeper meaning by weaving narratives that reveal, conceal, or transform. What stories can you tell with bricks as metaphor? What truths can emerge through play, symbol, and imagination?
In a world that feels fragmented, allegory helps us transcend the chaos by connecting the personal to the universal, the playful to the profound. Through allegory, tiny bricks become mirrors, reflecting the wonder and absurdity of being human.
Tell us a visual story!
