Today’s art scene is dynamic, multifaceted, and heavily influenced by technology, social issues, and global interconnectedness leading to a wide variety of definitions and approaches

The Details:

Current will be a juried art exhibition of nearly fifty artworks shown at Kehler Liddell Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut in January of 2026. Kehler Liddell is a retail art gallery in the vibrant Westville neighborhood of New Haven, founded in 2003 by local artists, it has established itself as one of the preeminent galleries in the region. Kehler Liddell Gallery is a collectively operated gallery and has a membership of over twenty-five established artists.


Exhibition Dates: January 8 – February 1, 2026

Opening Reception: January 11, 2026 (2-5pm)

Closing Reception: February 1, 2026 (3-5pm)

The Jury: The jury for this show will be a panel of Kehler Liddell artists. Our artists have decades of combined experience as creators, as well as in exhibition and art education. Artists at Kehler Liddell have exhibited at and have works in the collections of institutions throughout the United States, including at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim, the Library of Congress, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, MassMOCA, and the New Britain Museum of American Art, in addition to exhibiting in dozens of countries throughout the world. Our roster of artists have taught the arts at all levels, including several long serving collegiate art professors. In addition, our artists work throughout the local art community, serving on the executive staff and within leadership positions at many Connecticut arts organizations. Application Requirements

Artists can submit up to 3 works in any media for consideration.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Cost: $35 jurying fee, up to 3 works
  • Deadline to Submit: December 5, 2025 by midnight
  • Artists Notified: December 12, 2025
  • Artwork Drop Off: January 2, 2026 (12-4pm) and January 4, 2026 (4-6pm)
    Artwork Pick-Up: February 1, 2026 (5-6pm) and February 2, 2026 (12-3pm)
  • Shipping: It is the artist’s responsibility to pay for shipping and packaging to ensure the safety of your artwork. Please use plexiglass in place of glass for framed artwork. Shipped artwork must arrive by Friday December 26th, 2025 to ensure its inclusion in the exhibit. You must include a return shipping label with your work, or it will not be returned.
  • Selected Works: Selected works must be delivered ready to hang/display. Artworks considered unsuitable for hanging/presentation will be refused. KLG staff reserves the right to refuse an artwork that is misrepresented through documentation or is not the piece selected by the jury.
  • Installation Requirements: If special equipment is needed to display your artwork (such as a video or audio component), it is the artist’s responsibility to provide this equipment. KLG has a variety of dark metal pedestals for sculptural works.
  • Size Limitations: Submitted wall-hanging works should not exceed 52 inches wide and 90 inches tall.
  • Commission Split: For all sales, the commission split is 60% (artists) / 40% (gallery). Commission checks will be cut and sent 2 weeks following the close of the exhibition.
  • Safeguarding Artworks: KLG does not supply artwork insurance. Artist’s exhibit works at their own risk and are responsible for supplying their own insurance if desired. We take the utmost care of all exhibited artworks and artwork is monitored throughout the
    exhibition.
