Call Description
Sculpture Walk Peoria is currently accepting submissions for an outdoor sculpture exhibition running from 2026- 2028.
Sculpture Walk Peoria is a biennial, juried, outdoor exhibit offering local, regional, national and international sculptors opportunities to showcase and sell their creations, while enhancing the cultural environment of Peoria and providing opportunities to educate the public. All sculptures are to be for sale during the Exhibit. Since its inception in (insert date or year), Sculpture Walk Peoria has sold 14 sculptures.
Sculptures will be placed in highly visible locations along Washington Street near the Peoria Art Guild and the Peoria Riverfront Museum. This area, often referred to as Peoria’s Warehouse District, features over a dozen permanent pieces of outdoor public art. Peoria’s Warehouse District has been included on the National Register of Historic Places. Peoria, Illinois is a City of 112,000 with a regional population of about 380,000, located 2.5 hours from Chicago, 2.5 hours from St. Louis and 3 hours from Indianapolis.
Sculpture Walk Peoria is an initiative of the Peoria Art Guild. Support for Sculpture Walk Peoria comes from the City of Peoria and private donors. The Peoria Art Guild is seeking sculptures created by professional artists for public viewing from local, regional, national, and international artists. Sculptures are owned by the artist and loaned to the Exhibit from May 23, 2026 through May of 2028. All sculptures must be made of materials that can withstand outdoor weather. Sculptures must not require any maintenance during the Exhibit. Public safety factors that will be considered when reviewing applications for the Sculpture Walk Peoria are the roadway circumstances including, but not limited to, clear zone, sight distances, vehicular safety, and pedestrian safety. Sculptures that contain bold or vibrant colors, lighting or reflective materials, flashing elements that stimulate lighting, 3D effects, company logos or symbols, flags and/or banners may not be approved. The Honorarium is $4,500 dollars, payable to the artist by the following schedule: $2,000 following the Exhibit opening on May 23, 2026; $2,000 in May 2027 and $500 after the sculpture is removed at the end of the Exhibit in May of 2028. There will be an additional $1,000 People’s Choice Award given to one artist in September of 2026.

Application Requirements
- Artist’s Resume
- Photos of sculptures (each artist can submit three sculptures with a maximum of three images for each submission)
- A brief description of each sculpture submitted (500 words max)
- One application per artist
- A completed call for entry on the Call of Entry website (www.callforentry.org)
- A $35 non-refundable application fee applies per artist regardless of the number of sculptures submitted
Eligibility Criteria
All sculptures must be made of materials that can withstand outdoor weather. Sculptures cannot require any maintenance during the Exhibit.
Sculptures are selected using a juried sculpture selection process and the selections of the jury are final. The jury will comprise of approximately seven jurors with four having an art/art leadership background and approximately three having a business/community leadership background. Submissions will be evaluated on artistic merit, creativity, public safety, and durability outdoors. Further instructions will be provided if selected.
The jury will give priority to newly constructed sculptures when making selections. Sculptures must be in “like new” condition. The artist must transport and install the sculpture that was selected by the jury. There can be no substitutions.
