Call Description

Robert A. Peck Gallery is accepting applications of artwork in all media on the theme of portrait, self or others.  We are looking for artwork that captures the personality of a person or an animal. The essence of their soul, through aesthetic finesse, and create thought-provoking narratives.  We are looking for unique and out of the ordinary images. No videos, films , installation or AI generated images. There is no fee to apply.  Prize money of $1000 will be awarded.

Juror:

Nita Kehoe, Professor of Art and Gallery Director has been a practicing artist for 35 years.  She creates conceptual artwork focusing on the intersection between humanity and nature.  She has exhibited her artwork internationally and is in numerous collections.  She teaches ceramics, sculpture and art history at Central Wyoming College for the past 26 years.

 

About RAP Gallery/CWC

Central Wyoming College is a 4 year college located in Riverton, Wyoming.  Riverton is a picturesque, rural town located next to the Wind River Indian Reservation.  The Robert A. Peck building where the gallery is located, boasts a visitor log of 1500 last year over the exhibition dates.  The RAP Gallery is a 6000 square foot space where a diverse array of artwork is exhibited.  The gallery provides an important educational and cultural space since it is the only large-scale gallery within a 2 hour drive.

Advertising

●      RAP Gallery/CWC marketing department targets a variety of social media posts pertaining specifically to this exhibition for its duration.  RAP Gallery/CWC cannot guarantee specific advertising initiatives with news outlets.

●      Artists allow RAP Gallery/CWC to use images of artwork in promotional materials.  Artists retain copyright. Artist photo credit will be given.

●      RAP Gallery/CWC guarantees promotional posters and postcards released in advance of the opening reception.

●      If an artist provides professional media content for their artwork, RAP Gallery/CWC marketing may incorporate these media materials into the promotional posts mentioned above.

Display

·       Picture frames with a back stand will be not be accepted. Framed artwork hanging system should consist of eye hooks with wire and plexiglass or glass.  Images printed on metal or other materials must be ready to hang.  The gallery hanging system does not allow holes to be drilled into our walls. 

·       3D sculptures must firmly set on a pedestal.

Show Set-Up and Take-Down

●      RAPG staff will be responsible for the setup of the exhibition. Each exhibitor must clearly communicate any specific needs and expectations in artistic set-up i.e. order or grouping of pieces, prior to delivery of artwork. RAP Gallery must be informed of any unusual set-up requests for approval and clearance, prior to delivery of artwork. If an exhibitor wants to physically set up their own artwork, arrangements must be made in advance, and the exhibitor will not receive any compensation for the extra time commitment.  RAP Gallery staff will be present when exhibitor hangs their artwork.

●      Take down will be the responsibility of RAPG staff.  All entries must remain on exhibit until the show closed.

Sales and Commission

·       RAP Gallery encourages the sales of artwork. Selling exhibited works is not required.  CWC takes no commission on the sale of artwork.   It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to price their work accordingly.  Selling of artwork occurs between the artist and the patron exclusively.  If patrons express an interest in purchasing exhibitor artwork, they will contact the artist directly or contact RAPG staff who will contact the artist with patron information. Artwork must remain displayed for the entirety of exhibit.

 Gallery hours of operation:

·       RAP Building is open Monday- Friday 8am- 6pm, Saturday 10am-3pm.  Closed Sundays. 

·       Holiday closures: January 17th-19th, 2026.

 Opening Reception: TBA

RAPG will provide light refreshments wine/beer/non-alcoholic beverages and hors d'oeuvres.   Exhibitors are invited to be present at the opening reception to meet potential patrons and interact with the community and campus.

Eligibility Criteria

Artists can submit up to 8 images in any media except installation or video.  No AI generated images or video.

●      Provide a 1 page artist statement or process/technique statement

●      There is no fee to participate in this exhibition nor will any commission fee be collected
