Call Description
Photografique is a new quarterly boutique-quality publication dedicated to helping both new and experienced photographers get their photography-based art exposed to the people who need to see it!
We are interested in seeing your creative photography, as well as other art based on your original photographs, e.g. digital manipulations, collage, etc.
Photografique is distributed to over 10,000 gallery owners and curators, interior designers, high-end real estate stagers, and other important decisionmakers in the art and art-adjacent fields worldwide -- the people looking for that next breakthrough photographer or that perfect photograph. As well, we will be distributing Photografique to our growing list of businesses that typically commission jobs to creative photographers.
Each issue has a call for artists to submit their art for juried consideration. Our jury is specifically looking for photography that fills two requirements: 1) high quality, and 2) tells a story or inspires thought/conversation. We WANT to publish your work -- submit your best quality evocative art and you have a good chance of publication... and maybe a cash prize.
Selected photographers receive a two page gatefold presentation in the next issue, featuring their headshot, biography, artist statement (if submitted), and social media/contact information, along with up to 2 of their submitted photographs based on available space. All art is published in full color or b/w, as submitted.
Your artwork, information, and link will also be displayed in the Photografique online 3D virtual art gallery exhibition for that issue.
For maximum and environmentally positive distribution, Photografique is distributed electronically in PDF form, both by email and online. Artists will receive a PDF copy that they can use and/or distribute in any way they want. High quality print copies may be ordered on-demand indefinitely from our website. Artists may order issues at or below cost -- we do not profit from selling print copies to artists.
CASH AWARDS
Our jury will select four photographs from those submitted to be our cover art for this issue, as well as one to four artists to be designated Artist Of Merit -- as with our other publications, they get FOUR pages displaying their work, positioned at the front of the magazine. Each of these selected artists will receive a cash award!
NOTIFICATION
All artists will be notified of our jury's opinion via email within 7 business days after the submission deadline.
FEES
Submitting to this juried call is FREE. There is no cost to submit for consideration. If you are selected for our next issue, you will be asked to pay a US$75 inclusion fee for publication. This covers our production and distribution costs, we do not sell advertising in our magazines.
Application Requirements
You will be asked to submit the following information:
- Your Full Name;
- City/Country;
- Email Address;
- Phone Number;
- Social Media Links (Facebook, Instagram, etc.);
- Website URL (optional);
- Artist Biography;
- Artist Statement (optional);
- Clear Print-Quality Headshot Photo.
You can submit 1 to 10 photographs. For each artwork submitted, we ask that you include:
- Title of Artwork;
- Medium (e.g., Film, Digital, etc.);
- Technique(s) Used (e.g., any digital modifications made, and/or techniques like Time-lapse, ICM, etc.);
- Year of Creation;
- Size In Inches or Centimeters (Height by Width by Depth)
- Description (optional);
- If art is for sale, include the price -- we do not take any commission for sales generated by inclusion in Photografique! If the art is not for sale or sold, state NFS or SOLD.
If this information is already entered into your CaFE portfolio artworks, it's super easy to submit, so make sure that info is in there. All submitted art must, of course, be your original work. Photos should only show the artwork itself, no frames, easels, etc.
